Tops grocery stores have long been regarded as a thorn in the side of Western New York, failing to live up to their potential as a cornerstone of the community. Despite their prominent presence, Tops has consistently fallen short in addressing socioeconomic inequalities and supporting their workforce.One of the glaring issues with Tops is their low wages and poor working environment, which contribute to a dismal employee experience and subsequently affect customer service quality. It's disheartening to see a company with such influence neglecting the well-being of its employees, who are the backbone of its operations.Comparing Tops to community-driven and employee-centric companies like Costco and HEB only underscores the stark difference in values and priorities. These companies prioritize fair wages, employee benefits, and creating a positive work environment, which ultimately translates into better customer experiences and stronger community ties.Tops has the opportunity to lead by example and enact meaningful change that benefits both its employees and the community at large. Embracing a leadership mindset focused on employee well-being and community support could transform Tops into a beacon of positive change in Western New York. This is a silly yet completely solvable issue….you can’t enter your phone number in for your Tops rewards….so you can’t get gas here without the physical card….unlike Kroger gas, Shell rewards, Race Trac rewards etc etc etc….in the store you can enter your number in without issue but in 2022 it’s not possible here. Figure it out fam. It’s pretty simple.
