July 2024 by Mr. Smith
I have a real, legitimate complaint. My brother stored an entire 3 bedroom household of belongings of his and his two children, 13 and 16, at this storage facility which is owned by a Ms. Lisa Ohle of Livonia, NY. He became very ill and couldn't pay his rent, so my family and I paid it for him. When he finally got back to work, he still owed somewhere around $500 for two units. He made two $300 payments to her to cover it, but after hanging on to his things and repeatedly promising not to seize them, as soon as he made his first payment to the owner, Ms. Ohle, she seized everything, and entire family's life of belongings, pictures, toys, baby things, school work, Christmas ornaments, furniture, appliances, clothing, business paperwork, personal paperwork, 150 years of family heirlooms, EVERYTHING, gone, returning the payment with only a note saying "Steve Smith, you don't have a storage unit here." She led him on to believe that his things were safe as long as he continued to make efforts to pay, and in an instant it was all gone. For $500 this woman decided, in a fit of nastiness, to destroy three people's lives for $500. A very nasty thing to do to a person, and he hasn't been the same since, nor have his kids. It sent him into a deep depression and the children are deeply hurt and angry. What kind of a person does something like that? He's preparing to sue her since she provided no notice of seizing his things, no notice of auction, and no opportunity to repay. He sent her a formal, certified Demand letter, according to law, in an effort to have her produce proof of proper procedure by the storage facility, and she called the police on him claiming he was harassing her. Why not just kick him when he's down? A legal letter does not constitute harassment, Ms. Ohle. The law allows triple damages without the facility providing these things, and as he had at least $80,000 worth of things, that's nearly $250,000 she'll have to pay him, possibly more. I pray that they both get what they deserve and look forward to him having his day in court, although obviously you can't put a price on things like photos and anything with sentimental value. If I were the judge, and if I could, I'd order that she suffer the same fate. And you, Ms. Lisa Ohle, are one nasty, anger, bitter person. You snuffed an entire family's history out, like a dictator. She can try to justify what she did as being legal, but even if she did believe that it was legal, what is wrong with someone that would do something like this? And even if what she did was truly legal, that does not make it moral, and something being illegal does not make it immoral. What a lonely, bitter person Ms. Lisa Ohle must be to treat people so poorly, in my most humble opinion. Update 07/07/2024: When I submitted this review, Ms. Ohle's ratings were 2.7 stars. Now they're 4. You can believe the negative reviews here. I'm not sure where she's getting the good reviews, but I know, although illegal and punishable through the FCC, they can be bought by many illegitimate sources on the internet. Google "FCC buy reviews". I understand giving someone a negative review for crappy service no matter the business, but why would so many give 5 stars for a little storage facility in the middle of nowhere? How much 'value added' services could she possibly offer to earn such praise? They're concrete boxes with a door and roof. So many people commenting about how nice she is, with zero meaningful details, when so many others say she's nasty and give specific details. Not sure how someone could judge how nice a person is with the limited interaction you'd have with someone in that business, but I can guarantee that you can judge how nasty any person is in less than a minute. I'd like to see the rental records for all of her "reviewers". Besides, would you choose a storage unit based on how nice a person is first, or the quality of the facilities first? Or not c

Just called to inquire about pricing & availability. Called to double check the pricing as it is listed on the website but didn’t seem right because most other places in the area are priced well below her rates. I mentioned this to her, nicely I might add, and she was extremely sarcastic and rude saying “well I guess you’ll be renting from elsewhere then.” Not a good first impression or professional way of doing business. I will gladly go elsewhere and make sure other members of the community know how rude you are.

I’ve known several people who rent from this storage facility who are 100% satisfied with the owner, manager, and the attention to the property in the summer and winter which includes keeping it plowed for the customers. I refer all my friends to this well established business.

Be careful with your possessions at this place.I see there are similar stories to mine in other reviews.I had a storage unit with them for over a decade. In July my first grandchild was born and this winter I spent several months out of state visiting the newest member of my family. During this time I freely admit I forgot to make the payment for 3 months. When I arrived home and realized my mistake (from a certified letter, because a phone call from any company nowadays is too much to ask) I immediately sent a payment for the full amount owed including any fees, $315 in total. Unfortunately it was a week too late. The manager Lisa Ohle, refused to respond to any questions about the contents of the unit, stating only that it was rented out to someone else.Understanding that a company has to do business and a storage facility is well within its rights to claim the contents of a unit in default, this entire experience has left me with a rotten taste in my mouth. It’s so disheartening that after over 10 years of business (and really, the time shouldn’t matter) we as the general public can’t expect to be treated with the respect and courtesy companies expect from us.Most of the contents of the shed were of sentimental value, handmade Halloween costumes from when my children were little and other items from their childhoods. During my visit my daughter and I had discussed using some of those costumes with the next generation. All gone with the bare minimum of communication from the facility.Be careful with your possessions, this business doesn’t care about them or you.

THE best storage unit company to rent from. Hands down. No mice issues, security cameras and an attentive owner make it worth every penny!

I posted an earlier review listed below giving five stars but since then I've changed my mind. I left the other post up so you can see that I'm not just ranting. I have a real, legitimate complaint. Just called to ask about pricing, was interrogated by the lady over the phone for asking if the units had any sort of temperature control (I have a lot of plastic storage containers that I do not want melting in a metal box), she starts interrogating me about which other facilities have temperature control. A simple answer about whether there's air conditioning or just insulation would have been more than enough! Don't even bother calling this place, rude and untrustworthy.

She will get right back to you when you have a question and/or concern about something. I have no problems recommending this storage facility. I've been renting my unit for several years now.
