I recently booked this hotel for a brief family trip. I booked the room through IHG customer service. I requested pricing for first responders. I was offered the rate for nurses which was a great recognition. After 4 hours of driving and arriving at 9pm we arrived to check in and the lady at the front desk, Margaret, asked if my wife was working while in Syracuse and of course the answer was no. We took her 2 days off and took the kids on a brief trip. She decided that she was not willing to honour the nursing rate giving to us by IHG. Even after a customer service complaint was issued she was not willing to do a thing for us. At that point of night we really had no other choices. Turns out the extra $100 in the hotels pocket is more important than recognizing a nurse for her hard work and service.
100% will NEVER return to this hotel!!!

The restaurant inside of the hotel, Maplewood Bar & Grill, is the only saving grace here. The food tastes great and it's an amazing value along with their drinks.
Other than that, I will not be returning to this property.
The last night of my stay involved receiving an accidental shower outside of the shower. This happened when the ceiling began streaming water into the bathroom around 9pm.
Given the damage seen on the ceiling prior to this incident, it was clear it had been leaking in the past. It's also clear that the issue wasn't resolved. And to only make matters worse, the front desk attendant informed me the hotel was at capacity and I wasn't able to relocate to another room.
To their credit, the attendant did have a worker come provide a bucket to collect the water falling from the ceiling. They also mopped up the water on the floor and provided additional towels. But this occured about 20 minutes after initially reporting the issue

I rarely post reviews, but this was a very disappointing stay. I expected more from Holiday Inn. The room had a mouldy smell, was damp/humid, there were bugs around the air conditioner as it was poorly installed, and the ceiling clearly had a water leak which was poorly repaired. The door also had a visible gap underneath so we could hear everything happening in the hallway…not ideal when trying to keep young kids/babies asleep.
Pros: great location across from the mall, it had a nice kitchenette in the room, and they offered pots/pans for our use.

Would not recommend a stay. When we got to the room, we discovered a big wet yellow stain (pee?) on the underside of the duvet. The front desk staff handed me a stack of sheets and expected me to change them myself. The room had some peeling paint. There was broken tile around the shower arm and mold spots in the bathroom.

This Holiday Inn definitely feels understaffed. We asked for something simple—a hairdryer at night, which should have been in the room—but didn’t receive it until the next day. When we tried to ask the front desk, there was no one there, and the phone rang for a long time with no answer.
On the positive side, some amenities are nice, like the pool with a hot whirlpool, and they offer free Starbucks coffee. However, the staff at the front desk were not as friendly as I’ve experienced at other Holiday Inns or hotels. It felt more like a pissed-off cleaning lady who was asked to cover the reception shift for an hour, which was disappointing.
Overall, this is my least favorite Holiday Inn in America so far.

We stayed here after a day of exploring Lake Ontario. Upon arrival, we were told that we were upgraded. The room was HUGE! We even had a two person bubble tub in our king suite. We were warned that we were above the lounge and there would be loud music until 10 or so. We rolled with it. It was fine and we slept very well. The young woman at the check-in desk upon our arrival was friendly, fun, informative and definitely made us feel welcome. The breakfast staff was also fabulous. Thank you!

Great Place! Room Was Super Clean, Big & Had Everything We Needed. They Have An Indoor Pool, Hot Tub/Spa & A Restaurant. This Was A Last Second Choice For A Hotel. Great Choice! I Would Stay Again!

Fantastic customer service! We had a really great stay after an escape from a hotel with beds full of bugs. Front desk help was superb - helpful, friendly and welcoming! Room was great, pool area was a bit dirty..bandaids and food wrappers but otherwise enjoyable! Definitely would come back!

Walked into the hotel and had to stand there and wait for like 15 minutes for someone to come up to the desk... once we got checked in I go to lay down on the bed and I see a huge brown stain on the white comforter. I was disgusted and appalled, they must not have good housekeeping service if things like that aren't taken care of! I politely ask to get the sheets changed and try to forget what just happened, until one of the lightbulbs in the lamps blows out and i'm left alone in the dark. I ask to get that fixed too then when I turn the new lamp on I see a dead roach by the windowsill. I try to sleep but I keep getting bit by something microscopic, in the morning when i'm ready to leave I go down to get breakfast first and the muffins were as hard as rocks, literally stale like they had been left out for DAYS and the orange juice had a dead fly in it. 0/10 service i will NEVER go back there again, I think they need better housekeeping and management, maybe they should call someone for that, if only their phone worked.
