I brought in a Parasound A51 5 channel amp for repair. It had blown one of the channels. They fixed it at a fair price. The owner is a great guy who gave his insight on the state of the audiophile business.
So far, a great experience with this repair center.

Scott is a very nasty guy. Brought a piece of equipment in for repair… did not question his price… but only fixed part of the problem.. didn’t take further steps to bring the component to working order. Almost like a shake down. It is still not 100%. And gave me a weird explanation without troubleshooting the unit to see if everything else was working. What a C!

I just got another amp back from SG Custom Sounds and it sounds amazing! Scott and the team enthusiastically apply their expertise to make sure customers are satisfied and well-informed about their gear. They only recommend service when it is necessary and often help me troubleshoot a problem before that becomes the case. SG Custom Sound is trustworthy and dedicated. Highly recommended!

not impressed. Be careful when paying for services, especially in installments, they always tally up your total but always leave out the down payment on purpose. I had to correct them several times and they try this little scheme each time. If you are paying in installments, keep a tightly secure tally of your payment history. This has been a Public Service Announcement.

This place is phenomenal. It's so hard to find people who do solid work on tube amplifiers. SG Custom Sound helped me fix a tube amplifier that I love dearly. The customer service was at a very high level, communicating with me throughout the entire process. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thank you so much SG Custom Sound! Can't say enough good things about the service they provide. I will bring all of my guitar amplication and effects needs to them.

I visited the SG Custom Sound for the first time and I am very positively surprised by the very professional service. They replaced the phono cardridge Rega Apheta2 in my turntable Marantz tt15 and I have to admit that they set it up professionally and perfectly. Really good job guys !!!

FYI, writing as a novice who is just starting to build a hi-fi quality stereo system. I dropped off two technics 1200 mk2 turntables at SG about 3 weeks ago. One had a faulty transformer, and the other a grounding wire issue. I did diligent research in hopes I may take care of these myself, as there are many tutorials on youtube to make these repairs at home. I decided taking these to a specialist would be the best option. When dropping off the turntables at SG, a $50 consult fee was due at drop off to determine the fixes to be made (which I was already aware of and told the employee). No big deal, as a portion of this fee was deducted from my bill. They tell me I should be hearing back within a week to discuss pricing for the fixes.9 days pass by, so I call them inquiring about the status on the turntables. I get a call back later that day from Scott, telling me that the grounding wire fix would be ~$120, and the faulty transformer replacement would be ~$180. I was shocked at how expensive these fixes would be, considering they are fairly quick to perform. It seems these are common issues when dealing with secondhand turntables. I tell Scott to move forward with repairing the turntable that needs a transformer replacement for the time being.Yesterday, I traveled into Queens from the Bronx to pick up my repaired turntable. Paid on credit, but would have saved the tax fee if I paid in cash (about $20). I would have certainly paid cash if I knew this beforehand. Also, the turntable was not thoroughly cleaned as promised over the phone.I get home, connect all cables, screw on a brand new Ortofon stylus and cartridge to tonearm, and notice that no sound is coming from my left speaker. Turns out the left RCA cable should have been replaced ($2 at your local dollar store). So a month later, $250 bucks short and my hi-fi stereo will only play through my right speaker. I have full confidence in SG's expertise, but feel as if I was swindled into paying an exorbitant amount for sub-par work.
