Living in another state, we needed to find an experienced, professional realtor to help us sell an elderly relative’s house in Albany, NY. After reading many positive reviews from sellers in a similar situation, we met with Marion and had no doubts we needn’t look further. Marion crafted a plan, provided names of contractors to completely clear the house, clean, and paint, etc., Her concierge service option allowed is to stay home while she and her team took care of whatever may have been needed to prep the home for sale.
And the best part? She sold the house before it even hit the market for more than a fair price. We were thrilled. Finally, Marion and her team were just so nice. They made a distressing situation so much easier. I cannot recommend Marion highly enough.

My wife and I were extremely happy with the job that Marion DeSantis and her team did representing us in the sale of our home. We hired her because she was honest with us and had a long term plan for selling our home that made sense and was successful. I don’t believe that we would have had a good result had we used any other agent. We had an unforeseen problem with our home and Marion was able to work it out when I was not sure it could be easily addressed. She is well connected and respected by the other realtors. I believe her reputation for honesty makes it possible for her to effectively work with other agents when problems arise.
She is a down to earth person that will work with you to get your home ready for being sold and always gets back to you. Marion is a competent broker who is experienced, knows the market well, and will negotiate for you to obtain a good selling price. Even with the unforeseen problem with our home, she still sold it above the listed price.

I contacted Herb Shippee and did I ever luck out. He is honest , knowledgeable and a real pro ! He foresaw a lot of concerns and got me answers and information ASAP. You want him to handle your real estate transactions. I am very happy with his efforts and results.

Unfortunately I found my time working with Herb Shippee and Marion to be very disappointing. . I am looking for a fix/flip home in the capital region. I located the homes. I found Herb to be a very nice and eager to do a good job but very reactive vs proactive. I located a property for me to buy and was told that the current tenants had to be out in 30 days after my offer. I paid $100 for a contractor to view the home but found it locked. So we paid a 2nd visit. I paid $400 for a contractor to view the home and his electrician to view it at $225. We were ready to make an offer and Herb finds out the agreement to move out in 30 days was not signed. This would have been very easy to check and just make sure the move out agreement was in place. But this wasn’t done. When I voiced to Marion my thoughts it was easier to tell me to move on than to rectify the situation. That’s the what happened. I can’t recommend the Marion DeSantis brokerage. Very poor service.

After selling my family's home and working with a realtor who I feel didn't look out for our interests, I inherited another house in the Capital District and went in search of a realtor who would not only help us get the house ready for sale, but price it fairly and be an advocate for us during sale negotiations. I found this person in Marion Desantis and her team. Before listing, Marion gave us great advice about how to get the house ready for sale so that we could maximize our profit. She even provided a list of contractors who could help us quickly get the projects done so that we could list the house in a timely manner. When we received multiple offers - most above asking! - Marion helped us sort through them all and determine which was the best offer for us to go with. The result was a relatively easy sale and profit for us. I would recommend Marion to anyone selling a home in the Capital District.
