Without exception the Latham Lowes is the ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to DELIVERY, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND MANAGEMENT. Whatever you do, trust the many many warnings written by reviewers concerning ordering ANYTHING that needs to be delivered. This store uses a rinky dink third party company for delivery.. most often they just don't bother to show up at all, with absolutely no explanation or notification , after you have sat home waiting all day long after taking the day off from work. If you expect management to help remedy this situation, forget it.. Drew in particular is arrogant, rude and dismissive. If you expect customer service to even bother to answer the phone when you call to get a remedy, forget it, the service desk phone just rings and rings and rings and then hangs up on you without ever answering. If on the very rare chance that you're delivery truck does show up, it will be manned by some very rough looking characters out of New York City that will be rude, incompetent and unhelpful. After 25 years of being a loyal customer, I will NEVER ever shop at the Latham Lowe's again and the only reason that I will continue to shop at other Lowe's is because Lowe's corporate office worked very hard to make me a satisfied customer after this last disastrous delivery incident. If I find that the other Lowes begin treating customers the way that the Latham store does, I will do all future purchases with Home Depot and my purchases are significant, I flip housing for a living and according to my accountant I spend an average of $90,000 a year at Lowe's

6:11pm Sunday 7/28/24. I went in to get a quart of paint to finish up a few interior window frames. Driving home to Duanesburg from Saratoga I thought I would stop at the Latham Lowe’s because it is not far off of 87. I went in and went to the paint station. Rang the bell for an associate. Five minutes later a guy came to pick up his paint and told me good luck because he had waited so long. I then pressed the button again after another 5 minutes. And then again 5 minutes after. I looked to my left to the self checkout and asked the associate Mikaila if someone worked at the paint counter. She said yeah but “only the manager can do that right now and he’s pretty busy” I said well as you can see I’m not the only one waiting (2 people behind me). Which Mikaila then responded with that well the “Manager is very busy and you should just come back tomorrow”. The woman behind me was appalled and told her that response was unacceptable and she ended up leaving. I waited a few minutes later when an Associate named Chris came to assist me. He asked me what I needed and I left to get my other item and came back about 5 minutes later. I thanked him for assistance and couldn’t help but ask if he was the Store Manager. He said no I’m not is there an issue?..
I said no you’re fine I just wanted clarification for when I wrote my review since the Store Manager was the ONLY one in the building who could assist in the Paint Department according to Mikaila at the Self Checkout 13 feet across from the Paint counter who told me to come back another day.
Thank you Mikaila for inspiring me to write this….

Hate big box hardware stores. Bought over $300 of Christmas lights and 3/4 of them stopped working and they would not refund the purchase. They stated there was a sign posted when we purchased them stating all lights must be returned by 12/26. We purchased the lights as soon as they were out for sale and at that time there were no signs for the refund policy. I have not shopped there since and will never shop there again

So many beautiful plants. We had to wait a few mins for help in the garden area but a few associates showed up all at the same time when the cashier called for assistance.

Manager Jeff! You interview women, flirt with them, talk about their smile and verbatim say they got the job... only to find out they were not selected for the position. You're a scum bag and I'll be seeing you very soon. Have that same energy.

We spent some time in the electrical department looking for an item. We were then assisted by two employees. It appeared that Lowes did not carry that item. We went directly to Amazon on our phone and ordered the correct part.

Had a real issue with their rival store after spending over $10,000. Decided to cancel a future job with them and went with Lowe’s. I can’t say enough about what a great job they did on our upstairs flooring. Very professional, listened and perfected the job. Our floors look so good. Highly recommend Lowe’s and JAG instillation services!

Made a $4,500 order…was originally going to pick it up but it wasn’t there in time. Had no choice but to have it delivered because I didn’t have access to a trailer anymore. Scheduled the delivery with Lowe’s two weeks in advance based on WHAT THEY HAD AVAILABLE… received confirmation my delivery is scheduled two days prior, the day before I get called and told the order is there but they won’t be delivering it on the agreed upon day because “they don’t do that on Saturdays” even though THEY GAVE ME THEIR EARLIEST AVAILABLE DATE. Now I’m out $500 for the deposit I put down with the flooring people because I WONT HAVE ANY FLOORING FOR THEM MONDAY MORNING.

Don’t like putting up bad reviews, but this Lowe’s has gotten worse and worse. Today a 20 minute trip to Lowe’s took over an hour. Returns line was 6 people long. Took almost a half hour, and then when I needed chain cut it took over 15 minutes for someone to come help. When the chimes been ringing the whole time. I go to customer service to ask for help. No one there can do it, they page someone…still took 6 minutes. I should’ve cut it myself.

Recently I placed an online order for a 12,000 BTU Hisense portable AC from Lowe’s in Latham, NY. I picked it up last night from that location but unfortunately for me I didn’t realize how heavy (79 pounds) and bulky the box was. An employee who was collecting carts saw me struggling getting the box out of the cart and into my car. He came over and graciously assisted me and is the reason for the 2 stars and not 1. Something he didn’t know is I had a heart attack less than 30 days ago so he was a big help. When I got home I struggled pretty badly getting it in my apartment and up the stairs it took me about 30 mins but I eventually did it. I opened the box and noticed that the bag that holds the set up instructions, remote and parts was ripped open and the contents were loose just inside the box. Obviously the box had been opened prior to me getting it. I continued to remove the contents and noticed that the ring at the end of the ventilation tube was not attached. I was able to get it somewhat reattached but it’s not secured. So in my mind I was just going to call customer service the next day to get a new tube to replace the broken one. When I went online to get some info for the unit I noticed that the unit I ordered was supposed to be white and mine was grey. So I looked up the model number on the box and it came up with a 10,000 BTU AC that was about $100 cheaper than the one I ordered. I called the store first thing this morning and honestly it was one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had. First I waited about 20 mins for someone to answer the phone which is fine because maybe they were helping another customer. Once I did get someone I told him of all the issues I had and that I received the wrong unit. I asked him what he thought we could do about all of it. His response “there is nothing we can do about it. We gave you the right unit and the model number doesn’t matter.” He just kept saying the same thing over and over even though I told him the color and BTU weren’t matching either. I asked for a supervisor and was placed on hold for 5 more mins. That is when I hear the supervisor pick up the phone and she just kept saying hello. I guess she couldn’t hear me and hung up. About 40 mins and NO resolution. I called right back and waited another 10 mins for someone to answer the phone and it was the same gentleman I spoke with the first time. He said “oh yeah we have your AC here.” Then basically I just told him I knew I had the wrong one. He says “well you didn’t have the wrong one we just tagged it wrong.” I was no longer in the mood for the back and forth so I asked him if they could set up a delivery to bring me the right one and pick up the wrong one. He says that will be $78 per delivery. I asked for that to be waived due to the error. He spoke to a manager and when he came back on the phone he said “I’m sorry we can’t do that for you. You have to bring the old one back first so we can process the return and then send out a new one.” I once again asked for a manager and was placed on hold. The manager said how it’s a 3rd party who does the deliveries. I explained that I’m physically not able to do what they are asking me to do because of my heart attack. She finally agreed to have the service come to pick up the wrong unit and deliver me the correct one. I guess it going to take about a week for pick up then to get the correct unit. The lack of customer service was shockingly awful. No accountability or even acknowledging they made a mistake. I’ve worked in customer service for a long time and a simple “I’m sorry for the mixed up we’ll figure out a solution for you” would have gone a long way. Instead it was excuses, incorrect information, and we “can’t” do that. I know $800 is not a lot of money to some people but it’s a lot to me. Very little chance I will ever shop at Lowe’s again. I guess it will depend on how this pickup and delivery process goes. Do better.
