The staff there are excellent, professional, kind, and compassionate. I have been coming here for years and had excellent treatment for all my cats. They also helped me with the cats I had trapped.

After thirty plus years here, and several hundreds of thousands spent here, I have been "severed" from the practice be use of an altercation with a staff member.I was about a half hour late to an appointment, due to my cat getting away from me. I called as soon as it happened at 10, and was told no problem, I could come in a few minutes late. I live right behind the place and they knew me well. I arrived with my kitty, and was told I wouldn't be seen by this new tech. I explained that I called, and she said I could have my pet weighed (which was her issue) but I couldn't see Dr. Shaw because she had "moved on." I was brought to an exam room and another tech said they would weigh her. I was undoing the carrier and the first tech came in with a clip board in hand, and told me not to undo the carrier because now they weren't even going to weigh her because she looked on my chart and said I am late for every appointment! I said "That's bullshit." Which it was, I had only been in once this year, and was on time. She started on my "language", and I just lost it. I could take that kind of abuse, and I told her I had an appointment to see the dr. Not just a weigh in. She went off and confirmed with whoever, came back and told me I could wait or see another Dr. I told her I needed to see Dr. Shaw because we were following up on what could be a serious condition and I would wait. THEN she said well it could be Several hours! I said ok, I'll wait. Then I was told to get out and never come back due to my language! I can't explain how bizzare this was, and how much stress it has caused me. I never saw Dr. Shaw, who I have nothing but respect for. I don't know who did this to me, but the "Karens" running the place are out of control. Even one of the front staff knew something was wrong for them to be treating me like this. I tried to reach out to Dr. Shaw, but she wouldn't return my call, and I got a nasty email from the office manager. Thirty plus years, and I lose my vet to a crazy Karen on a power trip. They don't care about their animal clients, or their pet parents. If they think they can treat people like high schoolers, and not get bad reactions they're in the wrong business. Avoid this practice. It's now being run by crazy Karens.

Dodged a bullet here. Tried to get an appt. with LAH for a sick cat they hadn't seen in 6 years. Wanted to also update vaccinations. At first said it's been longer than 5 years so considered a new patient. Then said only 1 doc here ( Saturday) so you need to go somewhere else. Called again after the weekend, even though cat had improved but we were still worried about him. Now they said that it would be $73 dollars to " hold" the appt. for vaccinations ( which i quickly agreed to) but then came back to the phone and said they have no availability as they are booking out to December. Really? So basically turned us away. Called back 20 min later for a new patient appt and was given 3 open dates over the next 2 weeks. So they lied to us. Ended up finding a great vet in area who totally welcomed the cat. Do not recommend.

My wife brought our senior citizen Jack Russell, who was in over all decent health, to get his nails clipped. When they finished he was breathing very hard which lasted throughout the night. We brought him back first thing in the morning concerned and they denied allegations of restraining improperly or continuing while he was in distress. The vet forced a cream meant for cats down his throat, for what reason, I don't now. A "new person" worked on him we were told. Twenty seven hours from his nail appointment, my beloved pet was dead. Please do not take your beloved pets to this place.

Dr Tessa is a fairly new addition and I am so grateful she is there. She's is compassionate, takes so much time during a crisis and helps navigate you in the best direction for your baby. She has promised to help us through some more very hard decisions with our dog. Her entire life has been vets and medicines and needles. Meeting Dr. Tessa the first time it was evident she saw the whole picture of how hard we have fought for our dog.

Very poor customer service and care from some of the vets here as well as the front desk girls. It used to be a good clinic. But those vets are no longer there. Do not recommend. No return calls, bad record keeping and rude staff.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at the Latham Animal Hospital. My dog my baby girl got so sick I almost lost her. I brought her in they got her right in for surgery and thankfully she's home doing well for Christmas. They were so loving and caring to her, and was so kind and helpful to me going through this. Thank you to the staff a special shout out to Danielle you were so kind, and to the Doctors Dr. Shaw and Dr. Dasch thank you for everything.

Love bringing my animals here. They always take great care of my dog and are generally fast.
