I went to donate books to the library and the librarians were shocked as if I have committed an unlawful act? Simply saying that there are no donations being accepted is enough. But saying we have “NEVER” accepted donations is not correct. Sorry I wanted to add new books to the childrens section? Totally surprised of their reaction and way they unprofessionally handled it.

A wonderful place for little ones! I took my granddaughter here and we enjoyed a great time reading books, playing with the puzzles, computer activities. Staff is very friendly and helpful this is a very clean Library. We were also able to pick a couple of books to buy. There's so much to do; we'll be back very soon.

Absolute best library programs (and take-home kits during pandemic) in the area for children. Thank you Librarians!

Love taking my grandson here. It gets a little crowded now and then, but the librarians are great and my grandson loves to play with the train table and the other toys in the playroom.

Best library in probably a 20 mile radius (I've checked). Clean, plenty of places to study, helpful staff, wifi, outdoor spaces, not too crowded. Make sure to check the hours before you go (closing times are different each day). Plenty of places within walking distance to easily get lunch or coffee.

This library is awesome for kids, I'm not really familiar with the other sections to be honest. The kids section has its own floor with an awesome ramp leading up to it or elevators accessible behind the building. It's large, has great books, and lots of toys to keep the kids busy, including a train table, puppet show stage, magnetic tables, etc etc. Their classes are also fantastic, we come from a neighboring town just to attend. The teacher/librarian is so interactive and the stories and songs are fun and engaging for the kids. Best of all the class concludes with them bringing out a bubble machine and the kids get to dance around in the bubbles for a couple of minutes, they all go wild for it. A few cons, which are not necessarily the library's fault but should be noted, are that parking is a pain. They have maybe 4-5 spots and everything else is street parking, which can be tough to find since this library is located right off of a busy shopping/restaurant strip. Also, most of the classes are for Larchmont residents only and while I do understand that they want to cater to their residents first, it's a shame that we're only allowed to attend a single class a week, and that too on a first come first serve basis. Maybe one more class per week can be opened up to all? I've been to 2-3 other libraries in the area and can say that Larchmont is certainly one of the best.

Please explain to me the logic of putting the book drop underneath the kiosk where people use the computer to look up books? For some inane reason, the front desk now refuses to accept book returns and, instead, points you to the slot, conveniently positioned in front of a heavily used computer, forcing one to either wait in line or awkwardly attempt to return the book while people are standing directly in front of the slot. Ridiculous.
