My family and I walked over to your location this evening. As we approached, a vehicle left your parking lot honking its horn. This was at about 8:53. I was concerned. We approached the door. My watch said 8:56. The doors were locked. Now, I had walked over with a 7 year old kid so she could have a treat on her vacation. In and out in a few minutes with a container of ice cream. The worker inside made his presence known when I knocked on the window. Here is the exchange.
Him: “We’re closed.”
Me: “No you’re not. It’s not 9:00 yet.” I glanced at the sign on the door. I wasn’t wrong.
Him: “We closed early. I already closed the register.”
Me: “You shouldn’t have. You’re supposed to be open.”
Him: “Sorry.”
And with that he walked out of our line of sight. This is not an appropriate or acceptable behavior for a business.
We frequent this location quite a bit. For various needs. It’s close, it’s convenient. But I’ll be rethinking how much money of mine that such a business practice will be receiving.

Very polite, but not knowledgeable in helping out with downloading their app on my phone so I could get the DG rewards. I felt obligated to bypass the discount because there were people in line behind me. When I picked up the discount item I thought it was an in-store discount (not an application). I had to purchase two of the item in order to get the discount. I didn't know I would be holding other's up. If I had known, I would have gotten help before going to the register.
