My son was super excited when he seen the store, as was I because we had not been to a small business toy like this before. The store itself is super cute and has a lot offer. However, the owner is ruining her own business. As other reviews had mentioned, from the moment we entered the store we were followed. I’ve genuinely never been followed in a store so closely ever in my life, it was incredibly off putting and offensive. I was going to let my son pick out whatever toy he wanted, but unfortunately we were in the store less than 10 minutes before the owner asked if we were gonna buy anything in an annoyed tone. My son had found a small car he had shown interest in when we had first walked in, so I went back to grab that. Although I should have bought nothing, I wasn’t going to let my son suffer at the cost of another’s poor attitude. While cashing out my son touched a magnet and it fell. Immediately in a disciplinary tone she asked what fell. I explained to my son that we have to be careful and keep our hands to ourselves, then had shown her the quarter size tile magnet that had fell. She said “oh yeah that definitely would have broke.” I found the comment unnecessary and punitive considering it did not break? Very odd experience all together, hopefully the owner can reflect on the handful of negative comments that all seem to support the same frustration. Would not go back a second time.

Visited the store at night on 1/5. I wasn’t given a receipt or I would be returning what I bought as I am so disappointed in how we were treated. I don’t believe it was the owner working, but the employee that was working followed my family and kids around like someone was about to steal something. Frankly ruined the trip we had planned and put a damper on my daughter’s birthday. She made it very clear we were an inconvenience to her. I will tell my friends and family to support Clayton’s or Raff and Friends as the employees actually engage and love having the kids in the store. Just hurt and disappointed that my kid spent her birthday money and was not only ripped off but treated awful in the process.

Great store, lots of cool items - only issue is most items are extremely overpriced - I'd love to buy my kids a Barbie or even a toy car there or a game, but they are marked up 30-40% compared to Amazon or even target. Again, it's a great store and local but I would suggest closer pricing to competition if you want more business from savvy shoppers

I came to the Village of Lancaster on a whim, a last minute decision to do my Christmas shopping locally wherever possible. Bloomsbury Lane had just moved down the street and their sign hadn't been placed above the correct storefront yet. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a woman who I believe to be the owner or manager. She was FANTASTIC. She assisted me in shopping for all three of my daughters (almost teenaged, preschool, and toddler). The prices were "reasonable" as I would have paid a similar amount at a big-box store, but they offered to wrap my gifts as well which was an excellent and much-needed touch. I went to pick up all of the wrapped packages an hour or so later! I can't wrap well and honestly never have time until Christmas Eve, so it allowed me to enjoy my holiday so much more. I was so thrilled with the whole experience I sent my mom (from out of town) there later that day with my grandmother to do their shopping as well.

I found out about this shop because one of my sons has a growing interest in puppetry. They have a small but impressive collection at good prices including Folkmanis puppets, which are known for their quality. The store also has a variety of other toys and novelties, many that I haven't seen elsewhere. We spent a lot of time browsing and getting ideas. Service is friendly. Conveniently located to Lilly Belle Meads for us big kids.

This is an outstanding toy store. In my opinion it is a miniature FAO Schwarz. Huge selection, extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff and a welcoming ambience. You can't go wrong with a purchase from Bloomsbury. If you are stumped with a hard to find toy, chances are this store will have it. So get on down and make your Christmas shopping a whole lot easier.

Owner was welcoming until it was time for the kids to shop. A yearly visit left my son feeling like he did something wrong because the owner and the employees followed him around like a hawk and made him feel like be was doing something wrong. He was standing with his grandfather asking if he could get the item he wanted and the owner came up a said " those are the first to go when being stolen". After she followed us around the store eyeballing us. The owners mother in law was at the counter and was informed of our discomfort and she had nothing to say in response. Making someone feel like a thief isn't exactly the best way to earn business. If you're worried about something being stolen then invest in security tags.. not making customers feel uncomfortable.
