I have been to other pharmacies to pick up prescriptions for family members and have found none that compare with this pharmacy. They are efficient. I have never waited in line. They are very professional and courteous. They called me after a prescription was ordered to let me know about a drug interaction and made a point of mentioning it again when I went to fill the prescription. When my health insurance recently changed Kathy called the carrier to make sure it was activated helping me to avoid paying out of pocket for the antibiotics and she stopped me from being billed for a doctors appointment earlier in the day. I can not express the gratitude and the piece of mind I have when they fill my prescriptions.

The store itself is fairly decent outside of the same type of food being in several locations so if you don't know where things are you will think the store just doesn't stock items that they actually do. And I love the pharmacy. The two stars are because of the cashiers. It's bad enough to have a mix of good workers and lazy workers to choose from and you get to know who is who, but when there is only one worker on the register and it's the laziest one it's unacceptable. After ringing up help with bagging (or at least offer) instead of sitting around waiting for the customer to be nearly finished before starting to ring up the next one. It would save time and make sure other people's groceries aren't mixed together.

Serving Lake Ronkonkoma, NY since 2004. When I lived in the area during the 1990s, this Stop & Shop was a woodlot and the late Waldbaum's and King Kullen were the main local supermarkets. With both of them long gone, it was here that I food shopped with my dad two times when I visited him in October and once in March. With the collapse of major supermarket chains on Long Island such as Grand Union, Path Mark, and Waldbaum's with several King Kullen closures (including Lake Ronkonkoma), Stop & Shop is the most popular supermarket chain on Long Island. I attribute this to a competitive corporate culture. Contradictory to King Kullen and the departed Waldbaum's, when a Shop Rite or strong competitor opens nearby Stop & Shop modernizes instead of folding. This is the case with the Lake Ronkonkoma location. When Shop Rite recently moved into the vacant Waldbaum's a few hundred feet down Portion Road, this supermarket went through a remodel with more competitive pricing. The result of this competitive strategy is that this 17 year old supermarket is up-to-the-minute. In similar style to numerous Stop & Shops, it is the exclusive business in the parking lot. This aids in a relatively stress-free parking experience. The large parking lot is exclusively for Stop & Shop. State-of-the-art lights illuminate it at night. Exiting is also stress-free. The Hans Street exit leads to a signalized intersection with Portion Road and County Route 19. The exterior of the Long building looks more like a coastal building than a big box store. Inside it is an upbeat shopping environment that is easy to navigate under a brightly lit ceiling and above a shiny light brown floor. When I walked inside, there was the fresh foods side of the store where there is the produce, deli, bakery, and the Kitchen. From the attractive produce, we'd pick up tasty blueberries and strawberries. Near the Kitchen I saw whole cases devoted to pickles and knishes. The later caught my eye because they are so hard to find where I currently live. I appreciate the regional aspect of the store. During both visits the Kitchen was closed. In the back, I saw the meat and seafood. The dairy wall was at the opposite end. At the opposite corner of the entrance was the pharmacy overlooking the health and beauty aids. At the center of the store the grocery and GM aisles bridged the frozen foods aisles to the dairy wall. These perpendicular aisles connecting the back to the front end offered a large selection of items at decent prices that elevated to fantastic with certain club card deals. That included $1.19 for a 25 ounce Bud Ice that is the cheapest I'd seen it. Nearby there were aisles of snacks. In these aisles was an impressive pet toys section. This is where we picked up Shane's doggy toy for his one year anniversary. While Shane yelped over the dog toy we brought from here, I should of yelped at that spot in the store by taking a pic. These aisles holding a large selection are wide with a customer friendly shelf height. It really feels more like a supermarket than a warehouse. What adds to the ease of shopping is the way that the central horizontal aisle breaks up the perpendicular aisles. On the salesfloor, I saw very few employees. The one that I remember was the robot heading from the back to frozen foods. Unlike the cashiers who rang us up, this robotic employee wore a smile. At the front of the store is the checkout lanes, customer service, New York Lottery machines, and a generic coffee shop that was closed all three times. On our three food shopping trips here there was a sufficient number of humans ringing up the orders. Unlike the abundance of parking spaces, selection and bargains with the club card; there is a want for friendlier cashiers. This is the complaint I had with the nearby Shop Rite. Serving Lake Ronkonkoma since 2004 this is really a good supermarket. Stop & Shop has kept it up-to-the-minute with a large selection of food at decent to great prices with club card deals in an upbeat environment.

Pea pod delivery is fantastic for us folks that don't get around that well, I have a bad hip and a bad shoulder. My only issue is they give a delivery time between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. but otherwise, very satisfied so far. I would also like to give a shout out to my delivery driver who was incredibly nice and very courteous. I didn't catch his name. And also, they had texted me that he would be here soon and he showed up in less than 10 minutes. Very good experience all around besides the 7 hour delivery window. I think that they should be able to cut that down to 2, or maybe 3 hours. But I give a thumbs up anyway. ?

Since this Pandemic Managers have been so rude to people. You don’t have cashiers and one manager named Dan was demanding people to stay behind the plexi glass when no one was bagging and the order was huge piling up and you are told wait till order is rung up. He was totally unreasonable and rude and it makes no common sense.

I really enjoy this stop & shop. I just started working out here & I usually go here at least once a week for lunch. So many great options, quick & easy to go with such a variety. This stop & shop is very clean and has a lot more items then the one by my house. Due to the virus a lot of food is shut down but pre packaged it to make it even easier. Our cashier wasn't the nicest but I'm sure they are working crazy amounts of hours due to the virus. Still love it here!
