Visiting from Canada, we saw this store on our way to Lake Placid. Right inside the door we saw boxes of a very-special Eastern European delight called Chrusciki. GO.BUY.THEM. We ate the whole box back in our hotel room and the staff had to be called to vacuum up all the powdered sugar on the floor after we washed our clothes. That's meant to be funny. But, the fellow who helped us obviously loved to sell what they offered. If we lived closer, I would be there every week.

I won't ever come back here because of the clerks' scary opinions. He forces you into a conversation you don't want to be part of and doesn't know when to stop, even when you are clearly trying to end the conversation and walk towards the door. Literally saying goodbye and he just doesn't stop. By the end of it, I hated that I had gone here and hated even more that I wasted my money supporting such a person.

The store has everything I didn't know I needed!!! All the smoked meat reminds me of a neighborhood butcher back in Philadelphia. The family that runs this store are super knowledgeable and even have recipe options for the food they sell!

Unfortunately the store will not take orders over the phone. In the region where we rely so much on honor style buying they are afraid that someone will order 1/2 lb sliced ham and will not pick it up ?!? Nonsense.

I grew up on the periphery of New York's Yorkville neighborhood, a neighborhood known as a center of German / Austrian / Hungarian culture in NYC. Spice shops, bakeries and cafes that served the typical cakes of central Europe, restaurants that served German and central European food. Regrettably, Yorkville's central European character is virtually all gone now. So imagine my surprise when I found the Mini Euromart in Lake Placid, of all places, carrying many of the sweets and meats and fish and delicacies and smoked sausages that one used to find in the markets and restaurants of Yorkville. Its cases and shelves carry a terrific selection of European foods, including homemade smoked sausages that they bring in, apparently, from Brooklyn; wonderful jams; marzipan; European chocolates; white anchovies; and even caviar, blinis, etc. I love this place. Great find in Lake Placid for those whose tastes tend towards central Europe, or who want to put out a really good charcuterie (certainly one that would be far better than could be achieved through the local supermarket). More 4.5 stars than 4 stars, really. Recommended.

I love this store!! And I love that the proprietor is a warm friendly woman who is always available to help with your shopping and is happy to chat about foods of all kinds. She offers a large selection of meats and cheeses. I will never be able to eat "Swiss" cheese from another store. The store has recently expanded so there is even more cool stuff. It's off the beaten path which means it's not on Main Street but there is plenty of parking and it is right next to an equally great wine and spirit store.

I love this store and the variety of foods they offer! The place is very clean and the owners are always friendly and helpful. It's wonderful having the opportunity to purchase some of the foods my German grandfather used to bring from City delis when I was a child. I highly recommend the Mini Euromart to all my friends and coworkers!!
