The place was completely empty and one of the store clerks was watching me the entire time. I always make sure I put clothing back the way it was folded because I remember working in retail. The clerk was staring right at me as I just TOUCHED a pajama set and I literally left it as it was. She came up right behind me and pretended to “fix” it as she gave me a nasty stare. Really girl? She looked at me like I completely took it apart and left it. So rude. That’s why I literally never see anyone go in there outside of December the entire year.

My favorite store in Lake Placid! They have something unique for everyone, even the fur babies.Absolutely gorgeous items and such a friendly staff. My little guy is obsessed with lawnmowers and HAD to get the lawn socks for him and his favorite coach/landscaper, and I mean, how could you pass up on these adorable hockey jammies?!

Such a great hotel! We lived on the top floor and can see the Mirror Lake inside our room! It is clean and nice. Warm and quiet! We were a little confused when we checked in, but got in within 10 minutes. It was easy to park~ the location is great as well, we can walk to several stores and restaurants!

Don't let the resorts photos fool you. I stayed there 5 years ago, and although I thought the decor was rather tacky, it was livable. This time ,the dresser and desk were covered with a sticky film that I was able to scrape with my nails. Gross. There were paint bubbles in the bedroom and bathroom and the paint was peeling off. The door hinges were covered with dust. There was an old-fashioned bottle opener screwed onto the door jamb of the bathroom - WHAT??? Our balcony had so many spiders and webs that we were unable to sit out at night and enjoy the view. The wood ceiling of the balcony was rotted. Obviously no updates were done in the past 5 years. We won't be coming back.

My wife and I booked the Lake House at Lake Placid by High Peaks Resort for our trip to Lake Placid. Due to medical issues, we had to leave early and inquired about a refund for the days we missed. The manager at the High Peaks Resort passed the buck and told us to call the third party we booked through regarding this. We called them and the third party told us it is up to High Peaks Resort. After calling multiple times and being told High Peaks Resorts reservation person was "busy", we finally got through and they told us there was nothing they could do. But then the people at the Lake House at Lake Placid asked if we would be vacating so they could rent out the room again. The actual room at the Lake House was pretty small but the location was great and within walking distance to town. However, due to the terrible customer service, we cannot recommend High Peaks Resort or the Lake House at Lake Placid. We will be advising our friends and family to go elsewhere and recommend you do too.

This hotel is truly awful. It is dirty and worn. The pictures are misleading. It is in desperate need of renovation. Management clearly has low standards for maintenance and cleanliness. I am shocked that there are any positive reviews. The Lake House had filthy corridors and our bath had toothpaste splatter on the walls. The drapes were soiled and damaged and would not close. The main resort is is terrible repair. The balconies are cracked and moldy. This property is in terrible repair.

The lake and mountain views are the best feature and, on their own, make this a worthwhile place to stay. Plus, being at the low-traffic end of the commercial strip provides the perfect combination of exercise, quiet and access. Our only complaints are the fact that sounds from adjacent rooms are clearly audible and the unannounced construction activity on 4 or 5 rooms on Sunday and Monday. We’ll definitely go back, though.

We stayed here for two nights last week while we were skiing Whiteface, like we did last year. Last year we opted to stay in the main hotel, and had a great time. Lovely rooms, large bathrooms, great ambiance. This year, wanting to try something new (same price point per night), we gave Lake House a try. I enjoyed the first room we got put in on the 3rd floor, but my boyfriend really wanted a balcony, so we got switched from a king room to a double queen room. Unfortunately the TV was not working while we were there, but we had our laptops so it was okay. The hotel offered to send someone over, but we preferred to not have anyone in our room during our stay. The bathrooms in this part of the hotel were much smaller and tighter than those in the main hotel. The toilet was on an odd angle, and looked a lot like a public toilet. It did the job for us, since we were really on there to sleep, but if you are going to have a romantic getaway or to just relax, I would not recommend. Additionally, it felt very fratty, so I would imagine a family would likely not be too happy here. Especially interesting during a pandemic. there were a bunch of young adults, my age (24) or younger, drinking and playing beer pong in the main lobby/lounge of the Lake House. They were probably a group of 8-12 people, and were talking very loudly, walking up and down the hallways until maybe 11. For me, it was not a big deal, but for a family this might be. I have read previous reviews too that indicate this is not exactly a 1 time occurrence. The location is great, being that it is right on Main Street, and has free parking for hotel guests by the entrances. We had a great view of Mirror Lake from our room, and a lovely balcony to get fresh air on. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space in the room to lay out of ski gear for the evening. Would I come back again? To High Peaks Resort - yes, absolutely. To stay in Lake House specifically? No, not with all the other options I can choose from.

We had a marvelous 3 days mid week in Lake Placid at the Lake House. More or less having the place to ourselves the spa was excellent after walks around mirror lake and a scramble up cobble hill! Ideally positioned for delicious Jim’s coffee at the New Leaf and superb dinners at Jimmy’s!

As cute as this shop is, I am SO very disappointed and upset with them. I bought a $50 onesie for my 4 year old and it did not fit. They would not let me return it. What kind of insanely over priced child's store does not do returns?!?!?! I will never shop here again, and I highly suggest you absolutely know for sure that you will be keeping what you buy before purchasing here. I have never heard of a place not doing returns. You definitely lost a customer in me and I will be telling people I know if my experience here!
