What a magical place! We've been coming to Lake Placid for a few years now. Our boys are 2 and 4. Today was rainy so we stopped in hoping for a children's section and it did not disappoint. Ms. Linda greeted us right away and introduced the boys to all the stuffies in residence. She also promised to show us the special music box when were done. My 4 yo couldn't wait to go back upstairs and visit Ms. Linda. She also told them a Christmas tale before we left and thanked us for coming in. As I always say: "the only thing I'll evangelize is the public library" and Ms. Linda and the Lake Placid library affirmed that for us. Thank you thank you! We will be back.

Most beautiful library I've ever been to. Amazing $1 book sales, incredibly kind librarian. So many little spots to sit and read, impeccable garden right by the water!

I have been coming up here for over 30 years and always enjoy picking up a book from their free outside bookstand! I have also left several over the years and enjoyed their welcoming front bench to drink a cup of coffee/tea and read a bit.

The library garden is the secret spot to go relax from the busy town. Chairs and a table give you a chance to relax away from the daily affairs while watching the lake.Of course bringing a book is probably the best choice.

Easily seen from the main road. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Lots of interesting books. They have some. Lots of books and dvds on sale here. Give this place a try for those hard to find books or dvds you’ve been looking for. $1.00 each last time I was there for a book or a dvd.

I'm not a member of the Lake Placid Public Library but I stopped in here while visiting town. They have a nice seating area that looks out onto Mirror Lake. A great spot to get away from the busy sidewalks.

Great library run by very kind and motivated employees. Linda who works there was very welcoming when we first joined the library and I always love hearing from her - she calls us promptly whenever a book we requested arrives.

We took our 1 1/2 year old to check out the kids section and we love it! They’re doing the 1,000 books before kindergarten challenge. Every 100 booms you read to your child, they earn a sticker. I love that they’re encouraging the importance of reading with young children because early brain development is so important! The librarian is so friendly and really enjoyed our little guy. She made it very welcoming. We’ll be frequenting this place often.
