I went to Double H for ten years and every year I looked forward to it more. Absolutely beautiful location in the Adirondack forest.The most dedicated staff in the world. Truly a one of a kind and beautiful place.

A magical camp for people with severe disabilities. They get to escape the world here and are allowed to do things they'd never do at home. Imagine, people who can't use their legs doing the ropes course! Freedom! Every person in that camp leaves a changed person.

Camper here! I'm 16 and have juvenile idiopathic arthritis (plus a few other illnesses), and I've been going to HH for about seven years. I look forward to every summer, whether it be The Great Escape, seeing old friends, Paint-A-Counselor, or just hanging out around camp. As someone who's been outcasted for my disabilities and chronic illnesses my entire life, it's truly a breath of fresh air to get away from people who don't get it and get to the people who do. We may not have the same diagnoses, be the same age, or be from the same state, but we all know what it's like to feel weird around others because of things out of our control. There are times where I can't walk because of the pain I'm in while I'm there, as there are lots of hills and lots of walking to get around, and every time, every year, a counselor gets a wheelchair so I can still experience Camp Magic with everyone. They also always make sure I don't feel bad about one of them pushing me up or down a hill if I can't do it on my own. For the past two years, the cabins have eaten separately due to COVID or outside and not in the dining hall, and every meal a counselor stops what they're doing to make sure I get food (I have a gluten intolerance), even if that means running up and down a ton of hills and back three times a day. Even my mother, who has driven me six hours up there and back every year, knows the magic. The welcoming ceremony (?) is so much fun with all of the counselors cheering for every car that pulls in. I adore meeting new counselors and campers every year, plus reuniting with old ones when I see them. Camp is truly a special place, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

When life gives you lemons that you have to deal with on a daily basis Double H Ranch is the tastiest lemonade ever. Sure I wish I weren't disabled. But if I weren't given the lemons of daily life there wouldn't be such a tasty lemonade. Anytime I look at my tattoo I get reminded of how I bring camp with me everywhere I go

One of the most magical places on this earth. The work that they do here is truly inspiring. The care and thoughtfulness that is put into each camper making sure their visit is perfect is like none other. I don't think this place could ever be duplicated, it is that special. The staff just "gets it" and knows how to make these kids smile until they return the following year.
