Absolutely horrible experience that never needed to happen. Please stay away!I tore my ACL and meniscus on 09/23 and needed major reconstructive surgery.I contacted the club on 9/25 stating that I can no longer come to the gym and do personal training and to please cancel my membership. The PT manager Gab, stated that I need come in with my medical documents to which I replied it’s impossible because I cannot walk or drive and offered to email the documents. Gabe refused and stated that I need to contact corporate.I contacted corporate and their representative told me that the manager is responsible for collecting medical documentation and cannot be sent to corporate by the member. On 09/26 I contacted the club again stating what I was told by corporate. The front desk stated that the manager was out and will call me back with priority once he returns. I never received a call back and called again the following day 9/27 when I was told the same excuse. On 9/28 I was furious at this point and felt as I was being avoided. I spoke to someone at the club who sent me to another manager named David who told me that my membership was canceled and that it was written in my account notes. At that point I thought I finally had it sorted out.On Oct 15, a week post-reconstructive surgery I get charged for my membership. Absolutely furious and I’m intense pain I contacted the club and they assured me that it was canceled and I contacted corporate who told me that my membership was never canceled and no notes state it on my account. I contacted the club on that same day 10/15 and was told the managers do not work on weekends ?. 100% sick of the games I contacted my card company, disputed and blocked the merchant. Ever since the injury my life stopped, no job, barely any income and wanted to be like any responsible human being and cut the fat from things in my life I can no longer afford and use what I have left for common expenses and medical bills. LAfitness had no sympathy for my disability.A few days later 10/18 corporate started calling me and it felt like the twilight zone as they kept calling me asking the same question “what is the problem you are experiencing?” No matter how many times I told them the situation it was in one ear and out the other, promising me that they would have higher ups calling me back at specific times and again all lies.On 10/20 despite my doctor recommendations at 1:30 PM I got up called an Uber, drove to the club in the rain, walked with my crutches, brace, 3 screws in my knee and stitches and demanded to to have my situation resolved I was told again that the PT manager Gabe was out on break for 2-hours , I responded “that’s fine I’ll stay here as long as it takes.” Magically the PT manager appears and has the audacity to give me the most disgusting attitude I’ve seen in a very very long time and he asked me “why did it take so long for you to come in?” (I was dumbfounded) I explained again what ACL + meniscus reconstruction surgery was as stated on 9/25 and told him to change the attitude then I gave him my book of medical documents MRIs, X-rays. surgeon reports, doctors notes and told him to send it to corporate. Soon after someone from corporate contacted me at the same time and I told them the entire situation over again and was told that the original conversation the PT manager “Gab” about how it’s corporate responsibility to cancel memberships and take medical documents was a lie and that it’s fully the responsibility of the PT manager and this was all caused by Gabe not wanting to loose his commission.I’m just completely disgusted by the absence of human decency by the PT manager Gabe and David. Please do understand that there are great people that work there such as the personal trainers I had a very lovely experience with them and they do work at other gyms. But please do not go to this gym until something changes you will get all smiles until your life gets turned upside down and need to cancel, then you see the true side of these managers, do not fall for it.

Started going to LA Fitness in Lake Grove & it’s been amazing ever since. Christian set me up with my membership - he was kind and patient and was very thorough and considerate in explaining all the membership options available. Gabe helped me set up personal training sessions with Lauren. Gabe was also very thorough, he listened to me talk through my goals and helped create an affordable personal training plan that was customized to my needs. Lauren (who is also very impressive) has been very attentive and provides the guidance and support I really needed! Both Gabe & Lauren are very personable and make me feel comfortable during my sessions. They’ve both kept me motivated throughout this process ☺️ Def the best gym experience I’ve had!

This gym has been here for quite a while. It is well maintained, clean and all of the equipment works. There is a pool, racquetball and basketball. The manager is awesome and her staff is pleasant and easy to deal with. Unfortunately LA Fitness is one of the more expensive gyms in the area, but if you are a fan, then you will be happy here.

Lauren is by far the best trainer I’ve ever met. She is so knowledgeable and even tho she is stronger than the majority of people in the gym, men and women alike, she is the most down to earth and easy person to talk to. She has helped me get stronger and feel more confident in and out of the gym! I would recommend anyone looking for a personal trainer to work with her she is amazing !! Thank you Master Trainer Lauren D!

Love this gym! The kind young woman, I think her name is, Isabella Gloria Cruz, at the front desk greeted me with an infectious smile and then taught me how to use the treadmill. Will definitely be back ?

I LOVE this location specifically for the machines they have to offer and Gabe and Lauren. This is the first time I’ve had a personal trainer in my 30 years and they have made it the most fun and enjoyable (I say that lightly ?) experience. Between the 2 of them I refuse to go anywhere else!

Several months back, I was stopped at this location when I was one day late on my bill cause they tried to take it out early. The manager at the time (not sure what the woman's name was) was extremely rude and made me feel unwelcome. Also this facility is never clean and the bathrooms are always gross.

Don't want to leave a bad review, but I am a new member and have been a lifelong gym goer and I was let down after joining.30-40% of the equipment is broken or missing accessories. Not enough handles, hooks, bars for cables. Floor is always dirty by weights. dropped my water bottle and had 2 balls of hair stuck to it. Paper towel dispensers often empty, some water fountains broken. Out of 6 cable machines, 2 or 3 had broken lines. For the price a month plus annual fee, I expect better. Planet fitness is blowing you out of the water. I may go tour Crunch.

I hate to leave this review but honestly it needs to be addressed… my husband and I went to tour the gym today with our two year old son, we were very interested in this location because it offers child care when we work out.. when I asked to see the child care area it was dirty and there was only one person sitting at a desk watching tv..the children that were in this room were not being supervised and nothing in this room was baby proofed which was extremely alarming considering we were told the age minimum was three months old (exposed wires, outlets without covers ect) as I walked around the rest of the room my husband asked the person giving us a tour if the child care worker was CPR certified he didn’t have an answer so my husband asked the girl at the desk and she said “she didn’t no” so not only is there only one person working in the child care room and no cut off for the number of children being watched at once but they also aren’t CPR certified. Think twice before leaving your child here it’s an accident waiting to happen I truly hope they address these issues. We will not be signing up for a membership because of these reasons.
