We used to live here back in 2017 and when we moved back to the area in April we were thrilled that Willow Wood had an opening. Coty the property manager is super responsive and hosts fun family activities like egg hunt and food trucks, maintenance is great, and we love all the green space on property and Stafford Park is right across the street.

I've been living at Willow Wood for going on three years now, and have been extremely happy with the apartment, neighbors and property manager. It's in a rural setting outside of Syracuse, takes about 20 minutes to get to east Syracuse where I work but the property, yard, and quiet setting make the drive more than worth it. It was a larger then expected complex when I came to look at it the first time, and was nervous it might be noisy and I would hear my neighbors a lot. I had to laugh at that when I moved in bc to my surprise it was more quiet and private than the last apartment I rented which was only a split house with one neighbor. I honestly can only hear people when they enter the building but never hear my neighbors once they enter there unit. We have a beautiful 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom, that's incredibly spacious and our friends love coming to visit here and get out of the city. The backyard is beautiful and big with a row of trees that block the road behind. The property manager has always been awesome! I haven't needed to contact her often which is a good thing really bc I never need to report problems but the times I have needed to she's addressed any situation very quickly and has a really pleasant demeanor and attitude. Always happy to listen and very understanding and helpful. When I recommend this place to friends or co-workers some seem concerned with the price of rent but when you consider everything is included. cable and wifi, as well as heat, water and trash, it's not anymore then you would pay for a two bedroom without utilities, maybe even less. I honestly have no complaints and have recommended these apartments to many people.

Absolutely amazing! I love the location as there is a park right down the road and it's not right in the middle of a city. The apartments have tons pf space and come with AC which has been amazing during the summer! I moved here mostly because of how beautiful it is and because pets are allowed which has been great! With the very few issues we've had that required maintenance, someone always comes to fix the problem in a timely manner and they are always very friendly! The property manager, Coty, really cares about the tenants and wants you to have the best and most comfortable experience while living here!

Absolutely love it here! Would totally recommend these apartments to anyone. The location is perfect. Very quiet and peaceful. Love that you can walk to the park right across the street. Management really cares about their property and tenants. I’ve never had any issues here whatsoever. The current property manager Coty is amazing!

Willow Wood Apartments offer a high price ranging 850-1,300 per month. Some units have AC. It is a nice place to live in the summer and the fall. However, the winters are awful. You MUST have a 4 wheel or All wheel drive vehicle because the person who plows the parking-lot leaves 1 inch of snow on the ground. It always ices over and becomes extremely hazardous. The ramps to the buildings are almost never shoveled and if you work early in the morning, you will never see a plow to plow a path out of the apartment complex. There were a couple of times where I had to explain to my employer that I couldn't get out of my apartment because the plow did not clean up the parking lot. It's also annoying to see people walk there dogs near your unit and leave doing waste without much of a penalty.

I actually mostly loved living here since the area is great, a park right across the street, and apparently of areas to explore and walk. I'm giving it three stars because of two major things that occurred. Upon researching apartments, Willow Wood was advertised as having AC and so we went and viewed it, everything seemed in order. AC or central air is an absolute must for me so that was one of the biggest perks since central NY housing seems woefully lacking. However, while moving in in June the AC was essential but when I tried turning it on, I quickly realized that the apartment did NOT have any sort of air conditioning whatsoever. So basically they advertised the apartments as having AC but they conveniently only meant the newer section. Awesome. Let's just say the following summer was a nightmare. We got a unit that sat on the floor because of course the windows didn't support a traditional unit secured by windows that opened up and down, they slid side to side. We couldn't even sleep in the bedrooms and had to camp out on the couch. I felt so bad for the new neighbors that moved in next to us also in the summer. The new tenant knocked on our door and asked if our AC was working because she couldn't figure it out. Yeah, she was quite taken aback when she told her she didn't have it.Otherwise, maintenance was excellent, the coin laundry was a pain. Again, a central NY feature that there can only be coin laundry and no units in the actual apts. Whatever, it's fine. Then came time to move away. The best part. In the contract it specifically stated holes larger than a quarter would be subject to charges. They made a big deal about that even though I know for a fact that none met nor exceeded a quarter by any means. It was barely an issue than what is to follow. So after many weeks wondering where the hell our security deposit was and after multiple phone calls with the parent company, they were steadfastly refusing to honor our security deposit. Why? We did not give them explicit written notice of our intention to vacate. This despite my physically going into the leasing office, telling the agent we were leaving at a specific date, and her telling us it was all okay, we had nothing to do on our end. Many arguments were had due to their insistence that we were not going to see a cent of our security deposit. It didn't help the fact that the agent was fired or had quit right in the timeframe this all happened so none of her testimony could be used. It took a miracle of a tiny loophole that saved us in the contract due to no fault of our own. At the time, the contract stated that if the agent didn't contact you within x amount of time of your lease ending then you were exempt from having to write your intention to vacate. Something to that effect. The agent, having talked to her, didn't have to contact us because I saw her in person telling her of our plans. In the end after months of arguing with corporate, the fact that a single email (or lack thereof) made the difference of their keeping our deposit. They admitted defeat in the end and we got it back but what the heck!! I was in tears dealing with this at the time. This is the reason for 3 stars and that's generous.Edit: thank you for acknowledging, I know three years was a long time to have left a review. I have had a slightly bitter taste left after being a decent tenant and then treated so callously. I should clarify that my review mostly extends to upper management around 2015-2017 and not the apartments themselves. I enjoyed it, just not the moving out aspect and what entailed.

We have been living here for about 7 months now and we absolutely love our apartment!! In the summer, we sit on our porch and watch the birds, we even have seen deer out there also. Management is quick to get maintenance here if something needs to be fixed. Lawns are kept well managed and Willow Wood is pet friendly!! It's the best move we have made. We love it here!!

I just moved into a beautiful one bedroom apartment two weeks ago and I couldn’t be any happier. Willow Wood Apartments are located in a great area. Not too close and not too far from destinations. Lafayette is the perfect little town to live in. It’s in the country side so you get the satisfaction living in the country, but still close to the city. These apartments are beautiful and worth it for the price. Do yourselves a favor when you’re looking for your next apartment and look into these!! I feel at home here.

These apartments are SO CUTE! LaFayette is a nice middle point between Cortland and Syracuse. 81 is right around the corner to hop on either direction. The community has lots of green space for outside activities and everything inside is up to date and new. Highly recommend!

Love living here! I'm not sure if the previous reviewer meant to review a different DLH property or lives in a different style apartment (there are older styles than mine) or I just got lucky! It's very quiet. My building has 3 other units and all are very quiet. We do not have dogs in this building so that helps with the quietness. Everyone in my building is very pleasant. Large balconies and gorgeous spacious apartments. I've lived here for nearly 2 years and will be renewing my lease.Yes pets do cost extra... but where do they not? When I moved to Syracuse my research showed me it was typical for there to be pet rent (there was no pet rent where I used to live).

They treat people like commodities, not people. I have had plenty of issues with their passive-aggressive manner of addressing issues (notes left on your door after hours, so you can't even call them then), but it gets worse. Someone doused our stairway carpet with gasoline, so they ripped it out; it's been a month, and the only explanation for why a new one is not installed is because they are "negotiating" with Sherman Williams. It's a flight of stairs. Both upstairs units have kids. Rather than make the hallway safe and cover up the protruding nails (on which we have cut ourselves already), they're arguing carpet price. Also, when we moved in, we had immediate concerns about a smell in the apartment. We had the maintenance guys up to check several times, cleaned everything, and finally they settled on offgassing from the glue in the floors, and there was nothing to be done. These are not new floors. We learned to live with it, but I'm not without long-term concerns. To top it all off, apparently they're now asking other residents (who have lived here longer than us) for proof of employment. Everything they do is for their bottom line, even at the risk of the health and safety of their residents. They might treat you fine - until there's a problem.
