Worst location ever. LaFayette M&T is not friendly to new accounts. If you open a new account, be aware that every transaction you try to make, even local, will be marked as fraud and there is nothing you can do about it "it's just the algorithm". I am trying to access my past statements and can't access them at all unless I step into a branch because they closed my account due to inactivity. This bank is not helpful at all. I caution you, go anywhere else!

Under staffed. Could not open an account and took 10 min to cash a check a check. Needless to say I remember why I switched banks many years ago

Well, today's a sad day. I have finally come to the conclusion that M&T Bank is not for small business or for a personal account.Today I opened my business savings account statement to find a $5 charge. I thought that was odd. This is an account that I put aside to pay my quarterly taxes. I've talked with M&T about this account before. I found out that I'm supposed to keep a balance of $300 or more or otherwise they will penalize me $5.So on 5/31, I paid my quarterlies and the balance dipped below the $300 mark. Oops! I transferred money into it on 6/5 and so not even a full week had passed by, BUT I see that was enough to incur their penalty charge of $5. I don't always open the statements and scrutinize them but for some reason in July I decided to check. That's when I found the $5 charge from 7/11. Now remember this happened on 5/31, but because I didn't transfer the money into the savings until 5 days later it fell into the month of June. So they charged me $5 in June and then they charged me $5 in July as well. I'm sure had I not called I would have been charged $5 in August and so on.I used to love this bank. I used to get top service and I felt very loyal to them. Today I got very subpar service. They waived one month but that's it. They would rather lose a customer then waive these ridiculous fees. Who benefits from these fees? The bank of course benefits, but is it more beneficial to charge these fees then to lose an entire customer. We have had our personal and business accounts in M&T for years. Unfortunately, that's about to change. Very disappointed.

You know, for being the only bank in an entire town you'd think they would have it figured out. It's clear everyone has realized how much of a joke this place is, can't dispense money and can't exchange money. What else is a bank good for?

Complete improvement from what it once was. Manager Stacie and newer team deserve much credit for making it a professional, private, respectful, friendly place where everyone is treated well and equally, regardless of their account size, or status in the area.
