Action Fire & Safety purchased Paynes Fire Inspection after Paynes installed 10 hardwired smoke detectors in 2019 at a cost of $1,300+. Each came with a 10 year warranty. Action Fire & Safety purchased the company the following year. They serviced the smoke detectors and fire extinguishers for the next three years at a cost of approximately $300+ each year. Last year we had two faulty smoke detectors that would not stop ringing. We were on the phone with Action Fire & Safety who wanted nothing to do with it because they did not install the smoke detectors. I tried to work with them for two months. We purchased new smoke detectors at cost of $50 apiece and installed them ourselves. I contacted the Better Business Bureau who attempted to reach out to them. The BBB got back to me a month later and said they regret to inform me that the company has not responded to my complaint. It remains on file for three years and will be reported to the public that the company did not respond. Although a negative BBB rating can subject them to a loss of their accreditation (if they're BBB accredited), they never responded. They had no problem charging me over $900 for inspections the last three years and then when I had a problem they would not respond. They lost my business over two $50 hardwired smoke detectors which they would not replace in spite of the fact I had the paperwork and invoice from a few years prior when I had them all installed and they came with the 10 year guarantee. Their customer service is awful.
