Rocket Number Nine Records is a fabulous little record store on the main drag in Kingston's historic stockade district. It is an excellent little shop with a great, solid selection that is surprisingly large but not overwhelming. The store offers lots of great new arrivals, a good selection of rock, pop, folk, electronic, and jazz, along with many other genres, including a new releases bin. The atmosphere is old school, with tons of great cheap bins to dig through and very reasonable pricing on everything, with no price gouging. Customers report finding always something new and walking out with a solid stack of records, sometimes benefiting from special deals. The owner is noted as very friendly, contributing to a great atmosphere. However, one experience with a clerk who was not the owner was less positive, describing the clerk as very short and unhelpful. Overall, it is considered a very good record store where the vinyl is the star of the show.

Really nice record spot. There’s a lot of hidden gems in here. Take your time and do some digging it will be well worth it. Doug the owner very cool guy, my daughter picked up a few records and Doug gifted her a few, that was so awesome of him.
