This is my second time renting a car from Hertz in Lake Katrine, and it was excellent (again). The car, Buick Envision, was practically brand new, with only 15,000 miles on it. I rented it for six weeks and drove 1,500 miles without any problems. The team at the rental place was helpful and kind, just like the previous time. The car was quiet, it had excellent visibility, fantastic parking sensors, and the driver's seat was extremely comfortable. I took a road trip all the way to Rhode Island, and the drive was fantastic! I'm recommending Hertz, and hoping to use their service again.

Having recently moved up from the city, I rented a car from Hertz here until I could buy one — which ended up being 2 months. The staff here could not have been more helpful or accommodating, particularly Brianna. All in all, a pretty seamless experience; my biggest quibble is that the Hertz sign is not prominent enough, so look for the Valero gas station right next door instead!

Never answer their phone, car was late for us to pick up (we had to wait for 30 min). No option to park your own car while you rent. I expected a lot more from Hertz, this is Thrifty level service.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM !Tried to book in November now here we are almost in March this company won’t give me money back I am disputing with my bank this is completely unacceptable!!! Very unprofessional have had no help they lie and apparently have no corporate phone number ??!??sickening…how can they do this to a 20 year old ?

A total of one employee was there. After waiting 45 minutes and only 2 customers being served, I'd had enough. Previous to going over there, I tried to call, but apparently no one is answering the phones. Worst customer service EVER!!!

Not sure what is going on with all the bad reviews, my personal experience was great. Quite frankly it was a quicker and more pleasant experience than most airport locations. Vehicle was just fine as well. Not looking forward to more car troubles but glad to know this place is around in a pinch.

If I could give no stars I definitely would. I have had a rental car from other rental places and every time I try to call them they DO NOT answer the phones. I’ve had previous rentals from them and know the Kingston office is not that busy for them not to answer the phones. I have literally called them since 8:57am it is now 5 pm and they didn’t answer all day. Are they just sitting in the office watching the phones ring???? Absolutely ridiculous!!!

Originally expecting a positive experience but instead got scammed by a rude employee that knows how to manipulate the situation so they don’t get in trouble for their actions we got there 1 HR late mind you cooperates website clearly states 2 hrs grace period for pick up we accidentally forgot the original card that we did the reservation on we had multiple valid credit cards to use but was told They required original card to insert it to be able to pick up the car immediately our situation aggravated the manager Associate Tatiyana McMillian who rudely said “that’s what you get for not reading the fine print .” Which I found to be a unnecessary & rude statement at the time, we decided that I would stay there outside&my boyfriend would drive 30 mins to get said card they needed while we were walking out, she said “well, we don’t have to hold the car for you” so we disregarded her rudeness once my partner arrived back after driving for a full 1HR we went back inside and she told us that she is not renting the car to us she claims her “boss” told her not too this employee didn’t have the common courtesy to notify us knowing that we’re driving to go get the card and come back to rent the car so she purposely made us waste 1HR of time is of the essence because she can because there is no claims department to talk to they’re not part of the BBB , Took it upon herself to cancel our reservation without our knowledge Or approval Again, because
Her Alleged boss that she couldn’t give us the name of told her to cancel it because of how we spoke to her mind you I waited outside till my partner arrived back with the card. We inquired about how our money from the reservation would be refunded employee was extremely short and dry, and wouldn’t let us speak to anybody other than her told us to call the 800 number and talk to Billing department & when she cancel the reservation . So we asked her to call for us being that we never got a cancellation email in doing so her attitude started to get spiteful, which I have a video of She told me she has videos of us speaking to her rudely which I would love to see long story short She decided to call the police on us because we wouldn’t leave without getting proper information and cancellation regarding our reservation We decided to wait outside again for the the police then arrived they got both sides of the story coincidentally when the
2nd officer went inside said employee was now offering her bosses email & told the police officer she was supposedly on the phone trying to get us refunded mind you at this point this is all we really wanted anyway, but also didn’t want to have to pay the $200 cancellation fee since we didn’t cancel it. She decided to cancel it for us Due to her negligence and her being incompetent to perform her daily job requirements we decided to call our bank & cancel transactions & because of said employee, we had to cancel that credit card before going away on our only Vacation we canceled that credit card. The bank will be disputing the charges hertz made to our account. I hope people are able to read this review to avoid the same horrible experience so doesn’t happen to you , if you have to rent from them we hope you get Nate who was kind and professional but avoid doing business with Mrs/Ms McMillian at all cost she’s a professional scammer gets her joys from ruining peoples days &experiences at said car rental agency this is why hertz has been losing money for years & there stocks have went down because employees like her. Not to mention as a big agency, they have no complaints department when I finally got a hold of a live representative. They told me to go online. They’re not registered Better Business Bureau I understand small business is not being registered but a business like this, not to be registered clearly she knows she can treat people like this and get away with it PS I highly recommend enterprise of Kingston, NY instead I’m not just finished with this review. The vehicle we booked was not available at the agreed pick up time and they gave us another model. They said it was the same price but they charged us almost $500 more. When we complained, there was supposedly no way for the person who overcharged us to refund the money. There are no managers or supervisors to assist. They won´t answer telephone calls or emails. They never explained their toll policy and I just got an unexpected bill. The woman at the desk is unhelpful, unfriendly and is happy to scam you. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I would never rent from Hertz again anywhere in the world.

Horrible company, very unprofessional. We lost our credit card and wanted to use another one but they couldn t change the card on location so we had to call them and wait for an hour, so it took us more than 2h to get our car. Also we had to pay two times, they will refund it but in only 10 days. So if we didn’t have the money to pay 2 times we wouldn’t get the car even if we already paid. One of the person was not nice at all on location even if they couldn’t do anything to help us with their computer. So their system is not working and also the car is dirty. The worst company ever! I really don’t recommend it.
