It's an awesome little Latin shop right next to the High School. They have awesome pasteles, or pastries made fresh. They also have snacks and even some produce and ingredients. They have cakes, which are pretty good. They have cheese, spices, dried peppers, tortillas, sauces, and drinks. Pretty much your Mexican essentials. But the lesser known part of them is that they also serve some of the best and most authentic food in town. Their birria is probably their best option, though their other tacos are good too. Their birria combo box is a lot of food for a great price and has tons of birria products, like tacos, nachos, and a giant "pizza." The prices are good, and the service is awesome, though I'd suggest learning some Spanish to better communicate. Their soda and juice options are also nice. Overall, it's an inexpensive and delicious option to support small, local businesses with.

Checked them out today! What a hidden gem! Friendly service, excellent food! My buddy and I both had the carnitas burrito lunch special which came with Rice, Beans and a delicious (I assume) house made hot sauce. 12 bucks! Worth every penny! Everything else is no frills, but so what! Delicious food and nice people are enough.I will definitely return soon. Thanks El Mercadito!!!

Love this place!! It's a little bodega but the food it EPIC!! They have Latin bakery goods, produce,candy, and spices. They have the freshest tomatillos!

So fresh! The pastries are to DIE! This tiny little grocery is pumping out amazingly delicious food. Such a treat and an indulgence. A true local treasure.

We visited Kingston to stop by a local Mexican restaurant we usually go to. Unfortunately it was closed so we ended up coming here. We ordered 3 tacos Al pastor & an order of sopes on 2/20/2022. The tacos had mixed meat; chorizo & Al pastor which we never ordered. The sopes tasted dry and were definitely reheated. My girlfriend got food poisoning from the tacos that she ordered. It seems like the place is more about quantity than quality as they are understaffed, and have people walking around waiting to be helped. I don't really like to write bad reviews because it does look bad on businesses unless I really really have to.

Not sure if it’s usual for the hot food/lunch to make you sick. But I got food poisoning from eating here. I would come back for the grocery items but the hot food never again ?

If you love authentic food this is the place!!!!! Their chorizo tacos are simple but excellent! Burritos, enchiladas are top notch. THE RICE AND BEANS I dare you to find better! All in all I shop for produce and canned goods a well as there delicious authentic. Meals.
