My experiences with the Kinderhook village post office have been super positive. The guys that work the desk are hands on & helpful, there's never a long wait and they always help me figure out the most efficient/economical way to ship things. Maybe it's the stark contrast after so many years of Brooklyn post office mayhem, but I personally LOVE the Kinderhook post office!

This post office is conveniently located in the center of the Village of Kinderhook just steps from the bank. A few new, high-end eateries recently opened just across the street. I like to grab a coffee, spend some time at the farmer's market on Saturdays, then pick up my mail and packages. There's ample municipal parking (directly in front of the building). Postal vehicles are tucked behind the building and out of sight. Service is friendly in this lovely historical building.

Workers are lazy and make no effort delivering packages. Very frustrating to pay for shipping and have to pick it up at their office just for them to give you attitude and a dirty package.

The laziest post office in the world. They drive around with a "sorry we missed you pad" and never try to deliver packages. They have a canned list of responses.they are a bunch of the lazies cry baby republicans.

In the past two weeks I have had 3 separate packages not delivered to my home.30 June - Received a "sorry we missed you" note and no redelivery attempt was made. So I went to the post office (Kinderhook) on 2 July and spoke with Pam. She gave me the packages and I asked her the reason for non-delivery. She ran through series of questions with me; Do you have a loose animal? No. Do you have a covered location for inclement weather? Yes. Long Driveway? No. And the packages did not need to be signed for. At the end of the conversation, there was no valid reason I hadn’t received my delivery. I also asked her to please speak with the mail carrier, as I have seen him just toss my packages on the ground by my mailbox in the past and I live on a main road. She seemed annoyed with me and implied it was UPS, not the mail carrier. That is incorrect, I have seen him. She did say she would speak to him. She also asked me if I would just like to pick up all of my packages from the post office from now on. I told her No, I wanted the mail carrier to do his job and I wanted my packages delivered, like I pay to have them delivered.3 July - I was home. I saw the mail carrier pull up, shove letter mail in my mailbox, and drive away. No attempt at all to deliver another package I was expecting. Once again, he left a "sorry we missed you" note. I immediately called the post office and spoke with Pam. She told me that the package wasn’t even on the truck. She had it at the post office. So the note that they missed me was obviously not correct. I told her that I would come get the package from her. Again, having to drive to the post office. She told me that they were closing, but I could come get it off the back dock. She would leave it there for me. I picked it up and she was leaving as I was pulling in. I asked again to please speak to the carrier about this.7 July - Expecting another package, very small, a pool strainer basket. I received ANOTHER "sorry we missed you" note. I was at work, but got the notification through my Amazon account. Once again, I called the Post Office right away. Pam was on leave, but I spoke with Brian. Who said that package was also still at the post office. I explained the entire situation to him. He was very helpful, but said that I would need to speak with Pam again and she would give me a call. I have not received a phone call yet.I reviewed the Postal Operations Manual and I am in compliance with every mode of delivery requirement for residential housing. I have asked at the post office why they aren’t being delivered (this is recent, I have received the packages in the past) and no one can seem to give me an answer, aside from answering my questions with questions.

If I could give this post office a 0 rating, I would! They have the most horrendous system I have ever seen! The mail man is too lazy to drive down our driveway and deliver our packages. Our driveway is within the length requirement that the post office has set and still they refuse to follow the rules. I try my absolute best to completely avoid ordering anything that would have to be shipped through the post office in Kinderhook. If you can avoid it, I would!
