“I stopped at the shop today to ask if they could install a piece of window glass in my 2003 truck. Vinny was kind enough to give me the name and number of an independent glass installer and he also called them for me right away. The installer came to my work address within the hour. Vinny, thanks so much for your help! There are not a lot of places that will help out like this when they personally won't profit from the business.”

“All I can say is...WOW! This is, by far, the most incredibly positive experience I have ever had with an auto body shop. I just stopped by to see what they could do for me at a future date. Instead, without an appointment, they immediately took my car and fixed two problems with it, in an extremely timely manner. And they did it FREE OF CHARGE. How often do you here of a company being so kind to a new customer. Everyone was so incredibly friendly, and everyone had a smile and a friendly "Hello" for me. They fixed my problems in record time, and were extremely courteous. If I were to rate them from 1 to 10, I would give them a 20! You really need to utilize this company. I can not say enough good things about them.”
“Brought in my dented car. Was warmly greeted. When my car was examined, they popped bumper back into place and then polished away most of the egregious scrapes. I was asked if I could live with the car that way as bumper is plastic and wouldn't rust out. I decided I wanted my otherwise perfect car to be totally perfect. They worked out a time frame that worked for me and the work was completed beautifully even sooner than expected! “My 23 year old son became stranded just off the Taconic Highway last night around 11 p.m. I live in Washington state so when my son phoned me saying his car had broken down, I was distraught. We were so fortunate that Valley Towing and Adam the driver and owner responded to my son's situation via AAA. I am forever grateful as Adam arrived before the 56 minutes AAA told us it would take. He transported my son's car and my son back to Poughkeepsie and not only tried to leave the car at the garage my son requested, but took him home when they found the garage closed. “I've had so many bad experiences with car mechanics over the years that I have come to just expect it, mostly in the form of blatant overcharging for work, recommending unneeded repairs (hello, brakes that somehow need to be replaced every year!), and sometimes just outright shoddy work. I'd become convinced that this is just the normal state of things, part of the game when owning a car. They overcharge you, you push back and work out a price that's still too high but whatever. They try selling you unneeded work, you decline, they push, you decline again, they come up with other unneeded services, you decline. Etc., etc., ad nauseum. So I've been more than a bit shocked at my experiences at Doerr's. No drama, no overcharging, no constant overselling of services, nothing. Just quiet, competent work for a fair price. You drop off the car and ask him to do an oil change? He'll do the oil change and charge you a nominal price, not 3x the going rate with an added note that you need to change your brand-new brakes because they're "wearing thin". You drop off the car for a New York inspection? He sees you need new wipers, calls to tell you so, charges you $18 per wiper - not $80 - and your car is ready for pickup. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but, to my perpetual amazement, it never does. It's my highest compliment, one I feel uneasy giving given how many times I've been let down by other mechanics, but- this guy is honest. He and his shop are a diamond in the rough.”

“I went to have a CARSO inspection for my newly purchased CPO car. I won’t get into the waste of time that it is for a CPO car- that’s a silky insurance issue. BUT I will talk about the friendly and efficient service at BSC. I called this morning when I learned I needed this inspection (turns out I was overdue) and they got me in within 45 minutes. Everyone was super friendly and very efficient. The process took 20 minutes and they emailed the results to my insurance company. The place was clean and the minimart, although small had a good selection of sundries. From what I saw it seems they have Full service.”
