Attended open house, very nice helpful people. Found a dog I'd love to adopt. Hoping it works out for me. Lynn should not have brought Charlie to event when she knew see was going to keep him herself. Not fair to all who would have liked to adopt him. ? I hope others will think of her before it happens again.

What can I say. What a great organization in so many ways. My wife and I are fostering a dog that was found running around Syracuse. No tags or cell phone and clearly no money for an Uber. She's a sweetheart.
We've been dealing with Georgette, Kim, and Ashley and all have been so thoughtful, helpful, and diligent in helping us find a home for our wanderer.
The facility is no longer housing dogs in the building and is now using foster homes since covid. That said, they do meet people at the facility for meetings, caring for the dogs, etc. They really genuinely care for both the dogs, the potential adopters, and the foster parents.
Great communication and planning. They seem really on top of everything. It's a tightly run ship. They've made this really easy for us.
They are super diligent about placing the dogs appropriately through interviews, applications, medical exams, skilled meet and greets, and follow-ups.
They have great fenced grass yards, clean kennels, and good resources such as bathing, exam rooms, etc.
They have an annual fundraiser event and other smaller campaigns, but they really need their community's support. Don't hesitate to help them if you have resources you can spare. It's the perfect place for it.

Great interactions with some of the women who keep this organization running. It's obvious they're very knowledgeable about dog behavior and really care about finding the right homes and families for the canines in their care. I was also in a unique situation and needed help with a dog recently. They didn't hesitate to talk with me, listen and offer their assistant when other places simple told me they couldn't help me.

Wonderful experience. Ashley stayed in close contact throughout the application and adoption process. Our rescue had a fantastic foster mom too. All around happy we adopted our rescue dog.❤?

Although the shelter is currently closed to visitors you can still see available dogs now being fostered in loving homes around the area by filling out an online application and arranging a visit. It's uniquely located on the property of the Jamesville Prison where a program to care for the dogs has been established with qualified population from the prison.

The girl from the facility called and told me that my references were very good, and the vet's office said give her any dog she wants. Later, she emailed me to set up a time to meet Lola. My husband, son and I went up. The foster father was very friendly and answered any questions we had. I watched the girls in the facility and knew they wouldn't let us adopt. I asked what the next step would be, and Ashley said she had several people looking at her (she didn't say that prior to our visit), and they were waiting to hear from people about the other dog we were interested in. I told my niece in Virginia that the locals here would let me adopt. She said no problem. She went to a SPCA where she lives, and now I have two beautiful pits: mother and daughter. The last I checked, both dogs were still on Petfinder. The rescue shelters in this area (CNY) would rather keep the dogs in foster care and kennels instead of giving them good, loving homes. Unfortunately, they seem to be on some kind of power trip. It is unfortunate for the animals in their care. I feel so bad for them. My husband wanted to pay $3000.00 for a dog. I said why when so many dogs already need loving homes. Too bad the people who work in these places don't feel the same way.
