This is my number one favorite place to rent. Decent pricing, no hidden fees and a quick checkout once it's your turn. I like their daily e-zpass option and that spouse drives free. The only drawback is that sometimes the line is long and there are only one to two agents at the counter. It's a long wait sometimes, but it's worth it. I have rented over 25 cars from this location and all of them drove like a dream with no issues. The cars are always clean.

Takes forever to clear. 5 customers took almost an hour. Be prepared to waste good 1-2 hours.

Avoid at all costs if you can. Take my word and everyone before me. Pay the extra money. Go somewhere else. They won't let you cancel because once you get in line and realize how long your going to be standing there that's the first thing you want to do, cancel your reservation.

Another car review - this is becoming a trend. LOL
This place actually was okay. First, there was a power outage that left the system down for a little while, but it was okay as they did inform us. Some customers still groaned and complained, but at least they told us.
Once they system was up, I proceeded to make my reservation. Apparently with them, if you have an additional driver, that person also has to have a credit card. That was a ding in my book - if I am paying, why do they need a credit card? The representative was so nice that I worked with - very patient, despite having to switch back and forth between terminals as the system kept having some issues.
I was able to extend the vehicle return date 3 times so that was helpful.
I returned the vehicle only to discover that I had left something in there. I filled out a report, but no luck. I went to the place again and was told that I should contact Budget as the vehicle had been rented out that morning and would be returned to another location. I called that location only to receive NO SERVICE WHATSOVER.
I am going to try and go in person to see if I can get this matter resolved as it is ridiculous. Budget, is horrible - always has been.
I am not a fan of that weird Payless extra driver stipulation, but the customer service was very good.

1. Poor customer service.
2. Long wait. I waited for over 1.5 hours
3. No carseat available for my toddler at the time.

The wait time on this line and the amount of time they take with one customer is diabolical!! This is ridiculous! Find a better system please!!

Horrible experience, picked up a car to go from to jfk to Boston for 3 days. Car was absolutely filthy inside and out; asked for a new one, same story with that. Extremely dirty. I paid $120 for 3 days rental however 10 days after getting home they took an extra $380 from me with no explanation. Horrendous company, avoid at all costs.

Great staff but they lie about how much gas was left in car when returning and takes to long to release your deposit. Avis release the deposit as soon as you return the car.

Payless/Avis at JFK Airport does not provide a service for p/u at baggage for the elderly or handicap that cannot use the air train. Although their website states it does provide a mini bus to p/u at baggage, it does not. There is also no direct phone line to the office to call so you dont know they don't provide for Seniors, handicapped or disabled. They also charge $25 cash for someone to drive from the lot to the terminal, even if you are handicapped. If possible use another car rental at JFK if possible.

The rental went smoothly from the beginning at JFK,however the issue arose because I wanted to extend the rental for one more day. I was told by their customer service that the earliest time I could return the car would be 7:30 am on the agreed day,this was untrue as I found out when I returned the car. I consequently had to take a later flight, which eventually made my travel day much longer .

Wonderful experience with the Payless car rental @ JFK airport. Starting with the great customer service and quick check out. Finishing it off with the Electric Mercedes Benz EQ SUV at a great price. Looking forward to the next time.
