Have been coming here for about 2 years now. All amazing beautiful black women that have all worked on my hair and I have loved all of their art work on my hair. Go show them some love.

I made an appointment with Mam who then passed my daughter off to someone else. When I called to inquire why I was presented with attitude and no clear answer via phone, despite her response I allowed my daughter to still get her hair done. As time went on I called my daughter to see how she was doing via FaceTime, she was visibly upset, I asked what's wrong, she stated her hair is extremely tight and the person doing her hair is pretending not to understand her, at that point I was upset, I left work and went straight to the salon and requested they redo the front of her hair over. Person doing her hair obliged. There was an elderly lady there who I met upon my arrival, she was attentive to my daughter and attempting to console her so I tipped her, even though she wasn't the one braiding my daughter hair. NEVER AGAIN!

I was searching for good braiding salons in Queens on Google and I stumbled upon Mama African Hair Braiding. At first I was skeptical however, there was something in me saying just go and try them out. I went and I should say these ladies have gifted hands. Mam encouraged me to try colored braids and I loved the results!

make sure you go to someone who knows how to do the style you want. Make sure you wash and blow dry your own hair.

Mama is family I’ve been coming here over 20 years! They never disappoint! A few years back I had brain surgery, and was afraid to do anything with my hair, but they are all gentle and my styles last! They do children hair as well. My niece is just as tender headed as me, and she sat through the whole style. Go check those beautiful ladies. You won’t regret it.
