Today was my first visit here. I was referred by a client and decided to take a chance even after reading the non favorable reviews. When I first walked in I asked about doing a wash and set with braids and there was a misunderstanding around what they offered.
The woman who washed my hair was polite but didn’t speak much English, so our interactions were mostly smiles and her checking in to see if I was okay. I’m use to rough hands as I’m a child of immigrant parents, this was no surprise for me and I personally didn’t mind it.
If you are tender headed I would mention that ahead of time. As for the relaxer being used on my natural hair this is not true for me. I also believe the smell of a relaxer is so distinct that you would know as soon as it was applied to your scalp.
The only reason I didn’t write a 5 star review is because I do believe the woman who greeted me could have been more friendly or happy for the new business. I’ll be back again and believed the pricing was fair for the environment and the atmosphere.
I hope more woc businesses strive to set our standards high so more people feel welcomed and valued when entering their establishment.

I did not have a good experience here.
I have long natural hair, the older bigger lady with the short hair was so rough, pulling my hair at the shampoo bowl and catching attitudes with me. She has very rough hands overall. I felt like my scalp was sore after the service. She put the color washed my hair and expected me to leave without her even detangling my hair. I then started to do it myself when the other hairstylist who was very nice came and detangled my hair and helped me out.
I came for a color service, that’s it no blow no style, they charged me $80 when at first I could have sworn the lady said $60.
I will say, the Second Lady who helped me detangle my hair was very nice, she really turned this 1 start experience into a 3 star. I normally always tip but I could not justify tipping for this service in my head.
I understand a little bit of Spanish and these ladies will quite literally talk about you right in front of you if they think you don’t understand. All in all, I would never come back here.

OMG. I was just telling my coworker about how this place put a relaxer in my hair without my knowledge?. I went to them last year to get a silk press for an event, that evening I’m sweating a bit and I smelled relaxer (burnt smell) I’m like I know they didn’t put a perm in my hair. Eventually I had do a big chop mind you my hair was mid-back???. Pissed to know that they did this to so many women with natural hair! Since I see that so many of us that experienced this I’m going to look to see if we can sue these people???. This is not fair to do something we didn’t ask for in our hair??????

This place is the worse. I took my daughter there to get a silk press. Her hair is in patches right now. It’s been over six months and whenever I wash my daughter’s hair it still has a burnt smell. They don’t know how to handle black hair. Worst place ever.Don’t bother going there unless your hair is soft. You’ll be disappointed.Service: Hairstyling

They put relaxer in my natural hair without asking/informing me. I had to do a big chop. Mind you, I went to them for years with my natural hair and never had an issue. All of a sudden, my hair literally smelt burnt and fell out in clumps. This is honestly disgusting. I understand that you don’t know how to handle natural hair but you should never chemically change it to make your job easier without my consent. If you have natural hair?
