“One of the last motels left in Queens that hasn't been turned into a migrant shelter. It's the same old Kew... Jungle Room ..Mirror room . You know what you came there for . Price still right ?”

“Sooo we had a change in flights and spent the night. Kinda fast in and out. Overall it’s fine, not my favorite Hyatt but really did the job. Very strange location, I had trouble figuring out where to park. No signs! Plus I was jet lagged. I’ll be back soon for another layover, I’ll probably check out the casino just to see where I’m at!”

“I'm a New Yorker born and bred, so when I tell you New York has changed boy I'm not kidding! This is the first time I had to pay to stay at a hotel. Surprisingly with the city bring over crowded we had a difficult time locating a room ourselves. So we got a booking agent. She got a nice room at Best Western on Van Wyck. Room was clean and nice. Especially the bathroom. The receptionist was knowledgeable and pleasant. My only negative experience was the breakfast. It was unappealing and their wasn't good choices. Being this hotel is consider to be choice. I expect more. There was cereal, yogurt. Just Blah! Best Western needs to do a better job.”

“A lot more pleasant staff than you would expect in a JFK airport hotel. Rooms are up to standard, the restaurant was pretty good with one friendly and extremely overworked guy (and maybe someone in the back, but for all I know he cooked the meals too), and the neighborhood is actually pretty nice to walk around. Parking is $40 a day but that's NYC for you.”

“Been coming here for years. Staff is always nice to me & my fiancé. Never had no issues at all coming here. It had a vending machine in lobby full of chips/candy/soda. Also they had 4 hour rooms & over night stays. It is no longer a hotel it’s now a shelter. I will miss coming here so much !!!!Walkability: Walkable to the avenue, and near buses to travel. Food areas are close by.Food & drinks: Different places to eat”

“I think people expect the Ritz sometimes with their reviews. For a hotel, on a connection to Europe it was great for our family. Proximity to airport was very good, food was good both breakfast and dinner. We slept well...And people were very nice at front desk.”

“I would give it 5 stars because everything went nice and smoothly. However, the rooms are SO SMALL! We got the king size bed and the pictures looked more spacious but it was so tiny! Also, anytime anyone opened or shut the door the whole room shifted a bit! But, altogether it wasn't a bad stay!”

“Upon checking in, I was kindly greeted by Fabian and Siara. I wasn’t expecting to stay in New York, but my flight got delayed. Their warm welcome and assistance to all my questions was very helpful. My room was super clean. After a mini hectic airport experience having this hotel encounter was just what I needed. Super grateful for their service! 5-star all the way! Also, ask Siara for reliable local car/transportation services - she knows a reputable driver - great pricing.”

“This is a really nice hotel it's a bit pricey for my taste. In any event me and my girl friend decided to get a room. The rooms are incredibly spacious and stylish. The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were clean and soft.Rooms: As I said the room we stayed in was huge and stylish and the bathroom looked like a walk in closet that's how big it was. Also I have to mention the bathroom was very clean and smelled good.Safety: Me and my girl friend felt very safe during our stay at fortune. Also it was quiet.Walkability: Hotel Fortune is within walking distance of the stores, restaurants and Bodega's. Also there is a nice park that is close by.”

“Needed a place to crash when my flight was cancelled. About 10 minutes from JFK. Comfy bed, large bathroom, lots of lights and outlets. That said, room smelled like smoking room. It’s off the beaten path, but I still felt safe even going solo by cab.”

“You get what you pay for. It isn’t advertised as a luxurious hotel. Everything was how it should be nothing out of the ordinary inn at that price. Clerk was professional, easy going. Didn’t find anything wrong with my room. No foul smell no stains everything was as it should have been.”

“I only stayed a few hours because I landed too early to check into my Airbnb and needed a shower and nap. None of the issues I read about were a thing in my room. It was clean, smelled good, and was quiet. The front desk people were quick and friendly. Would I stay longer term? No. It lacked ammenities that "nicer" places have like drinking water and it was a touch rundown. Would I come if I had a layover and minimal funds? Sure.”
