I purchased a $50 wine from here that actually sells for $20. So definitely keep Google open or even Uber Eats (for local pricing). I prefer to walk one more street down to a more honest wine store.

I end up running here sometimes bc it’s close and convenient but they ALWAYS overcharge, a complete scam, it’s worth walking further- don’t patronize this business.

Zero stars. This place is a rip-off. I should have paid attention to other reviewers. Went to get a 375ml bottle of vermouth and they charged me the price of a 750ml. Everything here is marked-up by at least $7 to $10. It's a wonder they are still in business. I won't be going back. There are much better options nearby.

Despite the chaos that is this wine store, I've been coming here since it's literally down the block from my house. I will no longer be shopping here. They have wine that has gone bad, but when you try to explain to them it's bad, they interpret it as you don't like it and it's not their problem. Guess I'll be going to the further liquor store from now on, where they care about keeping their customers. Not worth the trouble, go somewhere else.

I'm always conflicted about this place. It's good for a quick grab 'n go for a bottle of wine, and the location works with also doing supermarket runs. However, the boxes of bottles on display get confusing because often there's more than one type of wine mixed in so you don't know which one the displayed price is for (or are they all for that price?). Sure you can, and I often have, ask them the price, but it shouldn't be that confusing.I absolutely do not recommend Orchid for anything that's not wine. As others have said, they mark up the liquor prices considerably compared to any other store or retail value in general. I feel bad because the owners/staff have always been nice to me, but I just can't easily recommend here unless you really can't/don't want to go somewhere else.

If you’re a grab-and-go customer you should be fine but once you ask questions about the wine, forget it, customer service does not exist in this place. In fact, the miserable woman working there will just immediately just say no to anything you ask and shut you down. I never write a review but my experience there was just awful. Go to Table Wine instead where you will be treated like a real customer. 2 stars for convenience.

They open and close whenever they want and not just during the pandemic this was an ongoing problem. And the man who works behind the counter is extremely unprofessional and just plain miserable. Go spend your money somewhere else!

It is dusty, but you can get cheap wine. Buy your liquor anywhere else because that is not cheap here.

Avoid this place at all costs and go to the Northern Blvd Liquor Depot. This is hands down the most overpriced liquor store in maybe all of NYC, I am not exaggerating. Literally everything in the store in priced at least $5-$10 more than you will find at other liquor stores in Jackson Heights. Since I buy the liquor most of the time and my wife isn't as familiar with pricing, she just paid $41 for a 750ml of Kalua. That's a $20 bottle most places. A 1L bottle of Kalua at Liqor Depot is $30. Seriously, buy your booze here if you want to pay insane premiums. If you want reasonable prices, hit up Liquor Depot on Northern. FWIW, I have the receipt if you think I am inflating the price on that 750ml bottle. Would be happy to show it. Other reviewers saying the pricing here is good either have no clue or are fake.
