Wild Birds Unlimited
159 Sapsucker Woods Rd, IthacaThe staff here are very knowledgeable about birds and seem to really care. You can buy quality wild bird seed and feeders, but also cute gifts and Cornell lab of ornithology souvenirs. Not the cheapest place to buy bird seed in Ithaca, but probably the best.

I have brought multiple injured/ sick wild animals to them over the years... they will meet you there in the middle of the night to triage and treat if possible an injury, they have state of the art equipment and a surgical staff at their disposal and they charge you ZERO $$.They are very professional and personable at the same time and if you fill out the paper they send you an update on the animals fate . A true blessing to the area for the many wildlife! If you find an injured wild animal ( no racoons I believe) then call them and get it to them as soon as possible. Thanks, Suzy Soule

2369 N Triphammer Rd, IthacaA special heart felt Christmas message to VCA Colonial Animal Hospital and Dr. Butler, DVM who saved our pup on an August 7th , 2025 ER visit. Her prognosis was not a good one for our Jake. Her Emergency treatment was live saving for him. Now four months following this event, we still have our happy boy….. That is my best Christmas gift this season. Jake is one fighter and we want to wish everyone at VCA Colonial ……. Merry Christmas

Cornell University Hospital for Animals
930 Campus Rd, IthacaEvery time we have to go Cornell the service is great! Staff is friendly and caring. Most recently our dog had oral surgery with Dr. Winokur and team. Dr. Winokur treated Penelope as her own and was 1 call away when we had any concerns. If we have to go back to dentistry Penelope and I will definitely look forward to seeing her again. Can’t thank her enough for getting Penelope back to her happy self.

Bed and Biscuit of Ithaca - Country Club for Dogs and Cats
419 Van Dorn Rd S, IthacaI've used Bed and Biscuit for two occasions of boarding my dog (4-5 days each). My dog came back happy and clean both times, and tired out from all the fun she had. I really, really appreciate how I get daily pictures of my dog on their Facebook - this is the key reason I chose B&B over other dogsitters available to me. I've recommended this place to others in the past and I'll continue to do so in the future.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Dolce Delight
1080 Danby Rd, IthacaAn absolutely adorable spot to grab a bite and a snack. This is a nice cafe spot with some really good food options. We had the harvest salad and “The Diva” breakfast bagel open-faces sandwich. The harvest salad has spinach, apple slices, dried cranberries, walnuts, and cheddar cheese in it, nice and fresh. The diva is decadence. It had cream cheese, avocado, melted provolone, bacon, and it was topped with pico de gallo. It was everything! We also grabbed a couple little truffles because one kind sounded interesting, the other looked like little footballs.
They also have pies and items available for holidays, like Thanksgiving that can be ordered.

Ports of New York Winery
815 Taber St, IthacaThis winery in downtown Ithica is in a beautiful building and has a small wine museum inside. The owner is so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of wine and winemaking. The tasting menu is small but wonderful with some off dry wines and dessert wines. I enjoyed the experience completely and did not leave empty handed.

Liquid State Brewing Company
620 W Green St, IthacaThis place is great. So many places do a crap ton of hoppy IPAs and call it a day, but they have a variety of beer styles that are REALLY well made. The garlic knots are solid as well.

The Rhine House
632 W Seneca St, IthacaI went on a night when the pool tables were free! Decent priced drinks. I was really impressed by the free stuff in the bathroom, some of which I've seen in other places but some was new to me. There were condoms and tampons but also cup covers to stop your drink from getting drugged, fentanyl test kids and a test for some other drug I can't remember. A couple does of narcan in there too.
