I've been getting my mullet chopped by Galyne for awhile now, she always does the best work- I always leave feeling rad ??! The vibes of this place are great, definitely a queer friendly space. The art on the walls is ever changing, and I always look forward to seeing something new! Great location to grab a bite to eat nearby before or afterwards (highly recommend getting a hand pie or tacos!!!)

Kristin did my hair (plus 8 others) for my wedding last weekend. She was a total professional from start to finish and from the moment she responded to my inquiry email, I was excited to work with her. As soon as I sat in her chair for my hair trial, I knew I was in good hands.I hadn’t had my hair done since my senior prom and every blowout I’ve ever had disappears in a matter of hours. Needless to say, I was a total newbie to getting styled. I had some vague instructions/inspiration pictures, but Kristin really listened to me and offered her expertise when it was clear I really wasn’t sure of my vision. During the trial, she tried out a couple different things and listened to me when I told her to use way more hairspray than she thought was necessary.I expected her to be on my a** for clear instructions for my bridesmaids, but she never pressured me to make decisions I didn’t want to and was totally flexible to tailor each girl’s style on the day-of without compromising on time. Even when someone in my party went MIA and threw off the timeline, Kristin kept her cool and pivoted to make the most of the time. We went in on a Sunday, so Kristin let us take over her studio so we could hang out together, get dressed, blast music, and eat snacks. She was a gracious host and even let our traveling makeup artists set up shop in her chairs. The space is also super funky and I am elated with how the pictures came out.As for the finished product – I could have cried. I felt like an absolute princess surrounded by a all of my fairy godmothers. My hair was better than I could have imagined because she was not afraid to use her judgement to create something she knew would be beautiful. She also deviated a bit (in the best way) from what we had done at the trial, which told me she was being very thoughtful and not just using muscle memory to play it safe. Kristin is the absolute best at everything hair! I drive over an hour to see her and she is the only one I trust to cut and dye my hair. I have been going to her for 10 years now and she does a fantastic job every time I see her. She is a true color artist. Her salon is the absolute best in town.Services: Bang trim

I do not recommend. Adela canceled at the last minute, and left my best friend and us bridesmaids high and dry for the wedding. Upon not showing up and canceling, she did not even attempt to help find a solution to this major problem. I 100% do not recommend using Adela for you big day.Service: Hairstyling

I’m only giving this review a 1 because I have to. The stylist “Adela” was very unprofessional and rude when I went in for my appointment last week. I brought in a picture of exactly the color I wanted which was a balayage and she colored my hair an all over ugly brown color. She didn’t even match my roots with the bottom color and my hair cut was also uneven I had to fix it myself. She also double booked my appt with a hair cut she made me wait an hour for her to do someone else’s hair during MY appointment I was paying for. Washed my hair with cold water and did not take her time while cutting/ styling. I complained to the owner and she promised me a refund. Then they cancelled my refund and i almost had to report them to my bank. Stay away from this salon at all cost especially the hair stylist “Adela” I’m pretty sure she was also on drugs or drunk the day she did my hair because she was acting very strange. I've been delaying writing this review for over a year now. I don't like leaving bad reviews, however, this has been really bothering me for some time. I booked hair color art for my wedding: for myself, my bridesmaids, my MIL and my mother. During the trial, Kristin was super friendly and I felt as though she would take good care of my hair on my wedding day. The week before my wedding, Kristin informed me that she had other plans the day of my wedding so would need to do my hair earlier than planned (3 hours earlier). I would need to work my schedule around her. Fine... No problem... although more notice would've been nice and also, since I'm paying you to travel to me, I didn't expect you to make other plans in the area... but happy I could pay your vacation travel. Kristin told me she needed to be done with hair by 1. Everyone's hair, including mine, was finished by 11 (yes, we all felt rushed). Since there was extra time, my maid of honor (who originally didn't want her hair done but changed her mind once she saw everyone else was getting theirs done) asked Kristin if she could do her hair too. Kristin said no. When I look back on my wedding day pictures my biggest regret is my hair. I had been growing my hair out for 3 years so that I could have long beautiful curls on my wedding day. I should have done the curls myself. The curls lasted maybe 20 minutes.... They didn't even make it to the outside weather. I had talked to Kristin about my concern of my curls falling out and her response was "it's going to happen." I've had my hair done for other weddings... my stylists have aways found a way to get the curls to stay. Kristin was not concerned about me looking my best on my wedding day and I regret having booked her, unfortunately.

I had an appointment with Adela today and she was awesome! I showed her the style I wanted and she executed it perfectly. Adela was really personable and super efficient - I swear it seemed like she snapped her fingers and my hair was done! I definitely think I’ve found my new regular stylist.

Kristin is the best hairstylist and colorist you can find in the Ithaca Area, her staff is amazing and she has a beautiful and fun studio that makes you feel at home.You absolutely get what you pay for and they don’t disappoint.
