I went in once. I waited for a long time even though I had made an appointment in advance. While I waited, I was treated to hearing 3 or 4 employees gossiping very openly about a customer who had apparently just left. (Apparently she'd been somewhat problematic, breaking her own glasses and then blaming it on them, but that's none of MY business, is it?)Anyway, I never intended to buy my glasses there; I just needed a prescription update. That was in February. Now it's May, and after yet another wildly frustrating interaction with their customer service chatbot where I try to obtain my prescription so I can finally order new glasses, I think I'm ready to pay out of pocket to get examined elsewhere and not have to deal with this place anymore.

I would recommend Visionworks. The associates and the doctor are very thorough and friendly. I cannot complain about anything.

Were not able to help with finding a spare nose silicone insert piece for the nose rest on glasses I bought from this company. Acted like it was a big inconvenience to get more in when honestly they should really keep some in stock (guy barely looked for a spare). Then "cleaned my glasses" and returned them dirty. (They were crystal clear before he put his hands on my lenses.)Did clean them a second time after I asked.. still were kinda smudgy so I just cleaned them in my car after I left -_-

Employees prioritize looking at their phones over helping customers. I waited and waited and finally walked out. They all held a steady gaze at their phones.

When I started my search for an eye doctor, I was very hesitant about choosing VisionWorks because of all of the horrible reviews. I’m glad I followed my gut and made the appointment! The staff working were kind and knowledgeable and the appointment was thorough and done in a timely manner! Based on my experience, I would absolutely recommend!

I would give zero stars if I could. I did my eye exam and they never faxed it to the DMV for my license. I didn't find out until 2yrs later and now my license is suspended. They apparently have a new system and no records going back that far. They screwed me over big time and I don't even need glasses. Now I have to pay to get my license back ? your business can ?off

The staff were so helpful. Made the decision making process so.much easier. One staff member helped by giving me honest feedback on how the glass frames looked on my face, so I had real time reactions to my new glasses. It was great! They also allow you to come back anytime for fittings or adjustments. I would go there again. MR

Cheap frames which are fragile and tend to break easily. No follow through from staff. Very unorganized. Ordered new lenses two months ago which should have been ready in about a week. Still waiting. Beware: less expensive options are not always the best. You get what you pay for.

The "receptionist" will look right past or maybe it's through you - hard to tell which. Despite the advent of Warby Parker they insist you MUST BE SEEN by an optometrist (to measure you in person) - so you'll need two trips. In my case she was sure she didn't use my insurance: until she looked it up. Then she didn't have access to it on the computer - a manager does but she wasn't there, so again - another day at another time. While I was there an African American woman waited and waited and was leaving and as she headed for the door they offered to help her?! Huh? Okay, so I'm guessing this business is doing everything in its power to repel customers so they can have quiet afternoons. They literally repel people.

I had been a customer At visionworks for many years. I go to Opthomologist every 6 months after cornea transplant. I just wanted to order new glasses. My Opthomologist on 7/31/23 told me there was no change in Rx. My last exam with vision works was less than 2 years ago. The clerk and manager said I needed an eye exam or show them Rx. Any other health care provider would have been able and willing to check with my doctor and get my Rx. I walked out and told them that since I have to get a copy of my Rx, I will buy from Warby Parker or another on-line store. This is an example of optometry is not considered health care. They actually are, they don’t carry themselves as providers.

The associates in the store were very pleasant and the doctors remotely were good. First remote eye exam and I thought it went really well. Although, I would have been slightly happy to pay a little bit higher of a price for the frames in store but they actually were charging more for the lenses than the frames. It was ridiculous. I will be buying my glasses online.

Stay away! I got a prescription from this office that had been entered into the computer incorrectly by the optometrist. When I used it to have glasses made elsewhere, the result was so bad I could tell immediately that they were useless. Visionworks Ithaca refused to schedule a prescription recheck, insisting that I had waited too long to use the prescription they had given me, even though they admitted they had never informed me of such a policy, and agreed that the prescription in question was still valid.Instead, they wanted me to schedule a regular appointment, which would have meant waiting over a month and paying out of pocket (as I had already used my insurance benefit for the year on the appointment that led to the incorrect prescription). When I complained about this to the manager and tried to convince him to do the right thing, he hung up on me. When I I contacted corporate, I was told the regional manager would call me back, but I never received a call. Tired of chasing these incompetents to try to get them to do their jobs, I went somewhere else instead and got a new prescription after identifying the typo in the old one.My new glasses are great, and I’ll never go back to Visionworks. I encourage you to save yourself the time and hassle and just go somewhere else first.

The in store experience for contact exam was great, even with a virtual eye Dr. However, should remove several stars due to trying to call a person to talk to at the store. The online Chat is ridiculous!!! Tried 5 times to have "Amelia" understand the store I needed. Gave up and called Visionworks again. Key is to select ANY option on the auto assistant to request an email be sent to the store to call me. THEN it takes 1-2 DAYS for someone to call back. Just for this service would be a negative 5 stars!! To far to drive to the store just to talk to someone.
