CVS is now implementing and mandating self-check-out and associates have been told to not use registers to check out. If it had not been for Richard, who was willing to check me out on a register, using cash, I would have left the store without my products. Richard, as always, the consummate professional patiently explained to other customers having trouble with self-checkout, and others waiting in line, apologized for the wait time, the delay in service, etc. He explained the new mandated self-checkout ONLY policy while checking me out at the register. How he managed to pleasantly explain the policy, while appeasing disgruntled customers with his sincere apologies took a lot of grace and patience. He was also the sole associate in the front of the store. CVS once known for its exceptional customer care, stocked shelves, clear aisles, welcoming and caring associates has deteriorated beyond recognition. As a faithful and generally satisfied customer for over 15 years, and my mother 15 years before that, I am deeply disappointed and am now faced with the decision to find another pharmacy that I can access on foot.

CVS has to be the most frustrating pharmacy that I have ever used. More than 50% of the time they get the date to refill wrong, the times quoted are always unrealistic and they can't seem to grasp my change in insurance so I have the exact same conversation every month. If it wasn't such a convenient location (one block away from my home) I would have switched years ago. The employees are a mixed bag as well---- almost never do they look happy (idc but if you want to work in customer service they should be trained to AT THE VERY LEAST smile at your customer's. While having said that, I understand that they are always short staffed (on purpose to save $$$, or just can't get any applications??? I'd believe either/or), ppl are thrown into positions that they clearly haven't been trained for and JFC if the prices were any higher it could be considered illegal or price gouging. Almost $7 for a small bottle of ranch dressing? $6 for a gallon of milk and almost $7 for coffee creamer......ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND PROOF THAT THEIR BUSINESS PLAN IS GREED, GREED AND MORE GREED. While paying the few employees who remain minimum wage or maybe .25 over minimum. Not cool CVS. NOT COOL, LOOK OUT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS BEFORE YOU HAVE NONE!!@!

They’ve really gone above and beyond lately, as opposed to in the past when I actually Dreaded going in, but as of recently, it’s been nothing but a pleasurable experience

Unable to fill basic prescriptions requested multiple weeks in advance that other pharmacies were able to fill in minutes. Poor customer service that wasn’t transparent in the slightest.

I stopped at the drive threw pharmacy and after waiting 20 minutes with no help I press the call button and get finally get yelled at saying be with you when we can and hangs up instantly. The window was ajar so I opened it and asked calmly for an eta as I’ve been waiting 20 minutes. The pharmacy tech yelled at me and using profanity saying they said they would get to me when they can. Then the supervisor come to the window and slammed it shut ignoring anything I had to say. I continued to press a call button until he returned and I asked for a supervisor. He said that’s me. I tried to ask about why the customer service is not so good and I’m being yelled at for asking a simple question after calmly waiting already for 20 minutes. He ignored me completely asking my name and date of birth and was the most rude person I’ve ever encountered. Corporate really needs to visit this store and train these employees how to prioritize customers and rotate desk and drive through if you are short handed or to at least communicate in a proper manner to the customer. Hostility never is the best option and have never been treated with so much disrespect especially for a pharmacy.

I don't frequently post negative reviews, but after patronizing this CVS for a couple years, I can easily say it's the worst experience I've had anywhere. I do not recommend this location, or any other CVS, as they chronically understaff anyway, causing undue stress to their employees.Oftentimes, my prescriptions won't process, and no one answers the phone due to strain. Staff range from poorly trained but polite to extremely rude, again because of horrible corporate decisions and poor management. For those with limited mobility, the parking lot is frequently a mess, including dangerous potholes that are left open for months.

Unbelievably rude male blonde pharmacist. Spoke over us, accused us of asking him to break the law, and didn’t offer to help us or explain things without steam rolling our questions when we tried to fill a RX for our 8 year old. I was stunned and watched this behavior with all of the people in front of me. I immediately called my doctor to change my pharmacy to avoid feeling like this again when I have questions.

Pharmacy staff do not help in person, do not answer the phone, delay monthly prescriptions (1 week delay on migraine meds). Not acceptable.

Jon the pharmacist and his team are nothing short of amazing. Jon was thorough when discussing the details of my medication and spent adequate time explaining things to me even at an extremely busy time of day. Preparation was fast and pick up was a breeze. I will definitely use this pharmacy again!

I will never step into CVS again. Was behind in my medicine because of a missed shipment. Had my doctor, who was having a much needed Labor Day vacation call in a prescription for only 5 pills so I could get by until my meds arrived. Pharmacist refused to give me the prescription, saying the doctor didn’t give enough info. And that he was too busy to deal with it. Have her call me back he said. She was out on a boat with her family. She called in the same prescription to Kenny Drugs, in the same way the next day. I had no problem getting it. Of course I had 24 hours of nausea without my meds.

Absolutely the worst. They are far past their capacity behind there pharmacy counter. It has stretched the employees and now they are very difficult to work with. Rude and impatient. Only use this pharmacy if you absolutely have to.

I am new to the area and needed a prescription filled for the first time here. CVS was so fast in filling my Rx (August 2023). I also noticed how helpful and conscientious the pharmacist was with the few folks in front of me. I could hear him going above and beyond for one family, and knew another gentleman so well that he knew him by name. I waited in line for only a few minutes, and they actually apologized for the wait. It was barely a 4 minute wait! I was pleased with the customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and thoughtfulness.

My provider called something in short supply for me today (Sunday)—a prescription critical for me to be able to enjoy my vacation time here in Ithaca. It was initially sent through the wrong insurance and not covered but they updated the info in the system for me and after a brief wait while it was refilled had it filled and totally taken care of. They were short staffed and the three people visibly on were working well as a team together! I was so relieved to be able to pick something up to relieve my symptoms promptly! THANK YOU PHARMACY TEAM!

I called and asked them to transfer a prescription, half an hour before they closed. They didn't want to deal with it, so they lied to me and told me that the pharmacy I needed the prescription transferred from was closed. So I proceeded to said pharmacy and paid for the prescription, instead of having it sent to CVS. CVS is dead, and their employees are the reason why.
