This location is easy to access and small enough that it's never TOO chaotic when wanting to pick up a car. The employees have always been helpful and efficient, and the drop-off is pretty simply.But two things: first, the drop off of the car isn't very convenient to where you need to return the keys. The return parking lot is on the other side of the building of this (very small) airport. And then there's no easy way to get back to the front of the location other than walking a longer way. It's not awful and is totally possible, but it's also awkward and kind of annoying. And oddly enough, I never get a receipt from this place. At Enterprise, if I drop off a car after hours, I always have a receipt emailed to me whenever the shop opens. But at this Budget, I have never received a receipt from a drop off. And they tell you to turn in your documentation/paperwork when you drop the key off, so you're kind of left with no paperwork? It's so strange, and I wonder if this is Budget-specific or if this is location-specific. Interesting.Either way, this location is the only Budget in Ithaca and is conveniently located near my home, so I'll still continue using it. But it does come with its downsides...

The quick drop is a great plus. Easy to get the car and even easier to return. Just insurance prices at Budget are still ridiculous.

Rental Car Experience with Budget at Ithaca International AirportDates: 10/26/2023 - 10/30/2023We switched rental cars two times.(1) The 1st car had a super sticky smell, and it was full of bugs flying inside the car. We kept all the windows open on the way to the hotel, hoping the bugs would get out and the smell would be gone. However, it remained the same on the 2nd morning. It looks like there were lots of newborn bugs overnight.(2) On the 2nd day, we went back to Budget to request a different car. We were given something like a Honda CRV. It was extremely dusty, inside and outside, with large patches of stains on the seats. And we immediately went back to request another switch.(3) The 3rd car was reasonably clean, very old - oldest rental car we’ve ever seen, and couldn't even connect to a cell phone for ApplePlay. So we had to use our own cell phone's map for driving directions. It was very inconvenient.Summary: The rental car experience with Budget at the Ithaca International airport was the worst car rental experience in our entire lifetime. We will never come back to the same company.

The location was easy to access on Tcat, and the customer representative was efficient and friendly. The car was in great shape. Highly recommended.

The rental car was very nice but the desk clerk at pick up was kind of rude, like I was bothering them to be there. They rushed through everything and was not very informative. Just grabbed my license and credit card and handed me a key. When I told them the credit card they grabbed was not the one the reservation was made with, they snapped at me because they had already swiped it. A little communication would have been helpful. Then, no instructions for the rental or return just sent me out the door.

Very fast when I went to pick up my reservation. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Budget and Avis share a counter and phone number, so if you call and it says Avis, its still Budget. Great prices on rentals, and when I booked, they had plenty of options. When you return the car to the return lot, the lot is pretty small, so if you dont see a spot marked with the rental company name, you can park in the lot right next to the rental lot. Key drop box in the airport at the counter if you return the rental after hours. Very pleased with the experience and would rent again

The rental location had no ability to put fuel in the vehicle. I needed a full size truck to move my son to college, they told me that if I came back with a gas can I’d be able to put enough gas in the truck to make it to a gas station. I put 20 gallons of gas in the truck and returned it with 3/8 of a tank remaining which according to my receipt was estimated at $39.50 but I was told that money is not refundable because I “willingly” put gas in the truck. If it had been full I would have only had to replace what I used. I was ripped off for making sure I had enough gas. Also, the counter agents told me I should have rented sooner so they could make sure they had a full-size truck available. I called 4 times that day, before I confirmed my rental, to make sure they had a truck. Maybe someone could answer the phone? I know it seems like a step too far but it’s not like it’s bad customer service, it’s no customer service. I think, in retrospect 5 is too high on this scale; 0-2 is more accurate now that I’ve had the opportunity to write this narrative.

I rent a car maybe 3 or 4 times a year, these guys are always good to deal with, and the price from BUDGET is always better than the competition, but my last car smelled strongly of cigarettes for the first two days I had it, so kinda not cool. I suppose I could have refused it and demanded a different one, but you do what you do and I review what I do…

I was hesitant with this rental. I shouldn’t have been! Easiest pickup ever. Only car company that allowed me to pickup at one airport and drop at another. Car was great. Everything was efficient.

The Ithaca, NY Budget location has been wonderful for the many cars I have rented over the years. If you treat the cars as if they are your own keeping them clean and safe they will give you a brand new car everytime. I have enjoyed renting from Budget/Avis and love the peace of mind on long trips of reliability and a truly safe vehicle. I have been renting vehicles at the ITH location for over a decade. The service is wonderful. A+

-Bad service: I came 1hour earlier (not late) from Ithaca regional airport, the girl want to charge me over 100$ Hourly rate because I showed up 1hour earlier. I said I’ll drop off same time of pick..-Now another bad experience same day at different location after picking up the car at noon (at jfk airport “agent Demitery”) I stopped to change the car due to something wrong with it and add an additional day, they refused to take Excechenge it stating we don’t have cars( which is not my problem (I’m paying over 400$ for two days) what’s making it worse Is Demitery at front desk insulted us and was yelling that we take so long at the office and he will not rent to us and he will kicked us and call the security. The region manager should check the video footage and will see everything.. I checked with employees at parking lot, they told me this is not the first time it happened from that office.

Let's start with what's advertised: Kia Rio or similar. Instead, I got a Chevrolet Spark (?). Second, the rear bumper was damaged and the smell of cigarrettes was horrible. Not to mention extreme dirt. I told the situation in the counter I suggested not picking up the car, but the person was completely unfriendly and did not let me return the vehicle. She kept saying I should call the call center and she could do nothing for me. Third, I had to pay unexpected ~100 dollar fees for picking up the car (that was not on the contract). Horrible experience and looks this is a no go again for me.

Great experience with Budget. Quick and easy pickup process. They upgraded me to the best car by far that I've ever rented. A totally loaded SUV with all the safety features. I used my Amazon Prime account to get a significant reduction in the price as well. I couldn't be happier with Budget.

On Saturday (3/11) @ about 10:45A, I reserved car with "prepay" to pick up early afternoon on 3/16 and return on 3/23. Mid-afternoon on Saturday, learned that my elderly (89 years old) mother was having problems. This would prevent us from travelling, so at approximately 3:30, I "chatted" with Paloma to cancel the car. I was told that $50 would be held from our refund and that if it was less than 24 hours prior to pickup, it would be $150! The total reservation was $366! Stating that the cancellation was due to issues with my elderly mother, I was asked "what kind of issues, George?". Are you kidding me? Needless to say, I wasn't going to get any further into personal matters. $50 is deducted from my refund and out of town family, nor I will ever recommend or use this company (or it's affiliates) again.
