What a scammer, wife gets auto body work done on her car across the street. Picks the car up and sees she needs an inspection. So takes it across to these guys. So they figure she knows nothing. Won’t pass inspection needs brakes. Thank god she smelt bs. So she gets hassled comes home. So I took it my mechanic by my job. All I told him was need a inspection and oil change. Calls to tell me it’s finished. So I ask him any problems, tires, brakes ect, all good. Go figure

For 2001 Mercedes: Took 16 hours of labor -$2550 to diagnose and replace parts mercedes key $750 (old key worked with charged battery), alternator $641 (old one worked but didn’t charge battery (told them ahead of time due to driving in large puddle), battery $310, (told them dead due to sitting and the free replacement of my battery wasn’t acceptable bc they didn’t like that brand), water pump $181, Idle pulley $77, Drive belt $69, Thermostat $88, Coolant $44 and reveal why check engine light is on for -$2200 in parts. But, needs another $2994 from check engine light reveal plus $1341 for brake booster to make the car operate. An initial determination should have been made by a car professional that the cost was not worth it to make the car operational. Specifically, by starting the car by charging the old battery or letting me bring the free replacement and running diagnostic on check engine line FIRST not last would have led me to conclude it was not worth $2994 that that one step revealed and minimize my cost on labor to probably $500 and no parts. Instead, they did a part by part strategy to rebuild the car that would have cost me $10,000 and still no guarantee. I blame myself for trusting them: But, I’m going to have the NYS Attorney General’s
Office review what took place as I’m out $5000+ and still have a car that doesn’t operate properly…

Be aware of all charges on your bill. Charged me for 2 lug nuts when they only installed 1 for an inspection. Mechanic stated we put a good one on for you. I feel they saw a women and took advantage.

Guy passed me in a schoolzone right in front of his shop in the middle of a school day. Completely reckless behavior from a business owner in the community. I called him out about it and he said there were no it’s there and that it was ok. Wouldn’t go here just based on that interaction.

Esi at Island Car Care is fantastic. This mechanic is a great find. Honest, timely and friendly. I brought my car in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. He noticed I needed a motor mount. I didn't realize the knocking sound was from that! Oh my. He completed all in same day and his prices were really competitive. I highly recommend the services at Island Car Car.Service: Oil change

I drove my car up from SC to tend to critical family member. Then experienced Transmission shifting problems which was so upsetting. I was Recomended to see Esi@at Island Car Care Center in Islip , Long Island New York. I drove in and Esi and he was so extremely kind and understanding of my plight and started checking my car out on the computer and test driving it to diagnose the problem and solution. He was Extremely kind ,knowledgeable ,professional , and worked on my car right away solving the problem..!!!
