Oh you can stay in Poughkeepsie but, you’d be missing out. Stay right in the middle of what you’ve come to see. Rooms are updated and very clean , comfortable and well attended. And it’s only a few minute’s drive to the major attractions. The coffee shop is full of memorabilia from the days when the automobile was new and America took to the roads. Reasonably priced and comfortable beds and pillows. Extra towels ! Joe Cristiano’s pizza delivers a great meal, or you can choose from three restaurants with a few minute’s drive to The Culinary Institute. Book it!

This "old time" motel was exactly as described in its Trip Advisor reviews. I stayed a "rustic" room in the single-story side of the motel. The room was surprisingly neat, clean and well-kept. It appeared to have been freshly painted. The room was comfortable, and sufficiently spacious. The Coffee Shop was also as advertised, with a continental breakfast that featured a variety of donuts, muffins, bagels and cereals - as well as bananas. It was clean and quiet - a delightful spot for a calm breakfast. The motel is convenient to the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt mansions. I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area.

Loved this place! It was like stepping back in time. Reminded me of the motels of my youth and the coffee shop is vintage too! Don’t be afraid to stay in the “older” rooms on the one story part. They are fine! Usually when properties are “older, ” that means dirty, unsafe, etc. Not the case at Roosevelt Inn! So glad I stayed here while in Hyde Park.

Quiet, quaint, and comfortable. The Roosevelt Inn, Hyde Park, NY, is a classic Ma and Pa motel: Well kept, well maintained, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. I have three criteria for any lodging I stay at, be it an international resort or a quaint Ma and Pa property: 1. Was I physically safe on the property? 2. Was I physically comfortable on the property, and 3. Would a reasonable person conclude I got what I paid for (value). The Roosevelt Inn handsomely meets my three criteria. Motel staff welcomed me and were helpful. The motel dog wagged its tail too. For safety, the Roosevelt Inn is nestled in the quiet and peaceful village of Hyde Park. I felt safe walking the sidewalks up and down the street in front of the Inn. The rooms at the Inn have external entrances with key locks and dead bolts. All in good condition. The spacious rooms are well maintained, including the bathrooms, which have well-fastened grab bars for the bath / shower combination. All appliances and fixtures were in excellent working condition. I stayed on the ground floor of the main two-story building. A smaller attached one-story annex has zero clearance entrances with no stairs. I slept well. No road or client noise. Beds were not firm, but not mushy: somewhere in the middle. Fine comfortable pillows. Air conditioning / heater worked fine. Motel WiFi also worked. Bathroom was exceptionally clean with abundant hot water. Bathroom had tub and shower combination. My room had a Keurig coffee maker with supplied coffee containers. Roosevelt serves continental breakfast in a delightful café setting attached to the motel. Loved that café setting. For value, I concluded the price was reasonable given off season rates. I highly recommend the Roosevelt Inn in Hyde Park. I will stay there again,

Clean rooms close to everything Hyde Park has to offer. Continental breakfast was a nice touch. Office personnel very helpful with area info. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony getting fresh air.

Exactly what we needed. Nothing fancy but clean and efficient. Breakfast had enough options and the "coffee shop" was open for tea and cocoa outside of breakfast hours which was nice. Property isn't new but is very well kept.

I stayed here several times during my two years in Hyde Park. As a student, I had to vacate campus during breaks. Roosevelt Inn was always my first choice. The Inn was always spotless, and the bed linens always pressed and the beds made perfectly. The breakfast room takes one back in time. Breakfast offerings are thoughtful and displayed with care. The breakfast room itself was tidy and welcoming. Reminded me of a B&B in Europe.

Absolutely wonderful. Sparkling clean rooms. I'd give it a 5-star of motor lodges. Friendly people.

Stepping back in time at breakfastThis is our spot every time we come to care for our elderly mother. Clean and gracious staff. We ask for a room in the two story building because each room has its own air conditioner; the subtle story building has one master air conditioning system which isn't as strong. The Coffee Shop where they serve breakfast is a lovely treat compared to the average breakfast room of hotels. We're coming here again.

Wow! What an exceptional stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.Me? I'm a Hampton Inn kind of guy. I have certain expectations when staying at a mid-priced hotel and I like to stick with my brand. However, in planning our visit to the Roosevelt Home and Val-Kill, we couldn't find a Hampton Inn within a reasonable distance.Based on the amount of extremely favorable reviews we found, we decided to try the Roosevelt Inn. We booked it several months in advance and chose a room on the upper floor. We arrived after 3 pm for check-in. Stepping into a small office we were greeted by Teddy the resident's dog, who was such a sweet, loving animal who we enjoyed spending a little time with. The woman at the desk was very nice, gave us our keys, and informed us about the breakfast in the Inn's Coffee Shop.Upon opening the door to our room, my girlfriend and I were equally impressed. The room was immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was fairly large with soap and lotions provided. There was an armoire to hang clothes and a little nook with a Keurig coffee maker and a selection of brews. There was a small flat-screen TV on the wall with plenty of channels via Direct TV, though during our particular stay, there were a lot of errors on the channels due to distant rain affecting the dish signal. We had a great night's sleep with no noise from adjoining rooms or the parking lot.We were the first to try the Coffee Shop shortly after 7 am. We were delighted to find a selection of fresh donuts, croissants, and muffins from Dunkin' Donuts. There were also fresh bagels, a toaster, and toppings. A small selection of cereal and plenty of coffee were also made available. The decor in the Coffee Shop was very retro and though signage advised you not to sit in the stools, there were a few tables where you could sit and enjoy your breakfast.I must say, the Roosevelt Inn is the best-kept secret in the area. It's very inexpensive to stay here compared to Hampton Inn. And, to be honest, I found the laid-back feel of this place to be more inviting than the chain hotel. It's clean, quiet and has a wonderful continental breakfast in a really cool Coffee Shop. It made a very impactful positive impression on both of us. We look forward to returning here.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Only a few minor complaints. The water is way too hot, I think you could cook a potato with the tap water. The breakfast selection was a little bit small and I wish it was open before 7:00 so we could hit the road a little sooner.

Great experience! Good to get away from the chains! Dated but very clean and functional. TV, not so much, but not a priority. I'll be back.
