Extremely knowledgeable and most importantly they are all very legitimate about there concerns about your pet. I have been using them for probably 30 years.

Just little insight into the amazing work Dix Hills Animal Hospital helps Tender Loving Cats, Inc. do everyday for homeless cats & kittens on LI. In 2020 TLC rescued close to 800 cats & kittens from the streets of LI and 700 of those kitties found loving forever homes. As a foster based rescue this is unprecedented. We could NEVER have done this without the support of Dr. Ali and the amazing staff at DHAH. Thank You!!!

Dr. Ravitz is wonderful, kind and compassionate. We had never been to this office before and my dog got sick at a time when our regular vet elsewhere was too busy. Dr. Ravitz squeezed him in, discussed all options and finances, and was very caring. Techs and staff were equally lovely. I would highly recommend this office. I think we found our new vet!

Title: I should have adopted a dog. On August 31st, I called Petite Pets. Our family was in double mourning. First, our 16 year old poodle had passed away. Second, our family had traveled all the way to Manhattan to adopt a Bichon...only to find out she had passed away before we arrived. I told myself I would NEVER buy a dog. Adopt don't shop. Right? Well not when you drive home from Manhattan with crying 2.5 year old twins. Tinsy went to heaven? Chloe too? Why mommy? So, I called the puppy store near my house; Petite Pets. A lovely woman named Beth encouraged me to come in, "We have the perfect dog for you...he's a little older...his name is Griffin". I wisely came in without my children because I didn't want them to be let down again. However, I fell in love at first sight with this little guy. His sad eyes, his long curly hair, the fact that he was a "leftover". I promptly called my husband and had him bring my girls over to meet him. Beth was right, Griffin was the perfect dog for us. At the time, $1150 was more money than we could afford and frankly against my morals and beliefs but we were IN LOVE. Beth explained that Griffin had been heavily discounted because he was "older" at 7 months old. Now here's when I regretted my decision: this past weekend, after owning Griffin for only 5 weeks...he started to limp, and not bear any weight on one leg. Concerned, my husband brought him right in to Dr. Alison Rhein of Dix Hill Animal Hospital. Incidentally, Dr Ali is also the owner of Petite Pets. At that time she diagnosed our poor Griffin with Legge Perthes, a hereditary disease that needs to be surgically corrected. The xrays cost 350$ and the surgery will cost $2500. Wow! We thought, "I'm sure Dr. Ali and Petite Pets will DO THE RIGHT THING." Wrong. Very wrong. Petite Pets has offered to offset the cost by 1150$(the original cost of our Griffin). This means, our grieving family will be out $1700. This $1700 is probably NOTHING for the owner of two businesses in Huntington BUT for our young family it will be the difference between being able to afford pre-school, a family vacation or even Christmas presents. We know our sweet fur baby needs the surgery and therefore we will pay.

Really nice staff, with really great vets. After having 2 bad experiences with local vets, I'm hoping that this one will continue to be great as time goes on.

I am so thankful I brought my 5 year old bullmastiff into Dix Hills animal hospital when she suddenly became ill. I was sent home from my local Vet the day prior with the wrong diagnosis. I knew something was terribly wrong but didn't know where to go next until a friend referred me here. When we arrived the doctor became immediately concerned with her appearance and rapidly diagnosed a bowl perforation and sepsis. She then initiated a treatment plan which saved her life. Any further delays in diagnosis and treatment would have resulted in her death. All staff from receptionists to medical personal were extremely compassionate and competent. I highly recommend this veterinary group.

I will never use Dix Hills Animal hospital again, they over medicated my dog. On her shots. They even admitted my dog should not have gotten the shots and even reembursted me for the visit and appologised , Trying to keep me as a client.but when I tried to retrieve my records they became very rude.... I was never planning on going back and told them this, my dog now has a very compromised system, and is very sick, part of which was caused by giving her the shots, this was their admission ,and why they reembursed me. I would not take my dog to them ever again.

These guys are the best .. unfortunately my pitty Maggie mae just had her second surgery in last few months. First was a mastectomy .removed 3 mammary glands and a tumor on her side in late October and in December a removal of another mammory and tumor on her back paw with required removal of a toe .. Maggie mae both times was pampered and treated as there own family member. She doing amazing running around in the snow only few days after surgery. Can't recommend them enough. Very patient and understanding of my concerns and Maggie best interests. They don't nickel and dimed you on everything. Actually very reasonable and didn't charge for over night stay and a few other things. Which is a great way to do business
