We had an absolutely amazing experience with Charli “The Dog Chick”. I was looking for a certified dog trainer and boarder since I was going on a long vacation - 10 days.

After about an hour session. She had written notes, recorded videos and told me she would email me the notes along with a behavior plan for my pup. It’s been over 3 weeks and she has not emailed me. She does not respond at all, after telling me about 5 times ‘make sure you stay in touch.’ Horrible service, unprofessional, and does not fulfill the services she claims to provide!

OMG! Charli is the best! I thought I would have to give up my dog because he was guarding his food and I feared for my child's safety, but Charli worked with him tirelessly and now we can feed him by hand. She gave us homework assignments which helped us to recognize his behavior & correct it as it happened. I've never met a person who is so good with dogs and people for that matter. I would highly recommend Charli to anyone who has a dog or dogs.

BEWARE!!!! RIP OFF - TOOK OUR MONEY PROVIDED NO TRAINING MATERIALS AS PROMISED!!!!!! First, i have never ever written a review on yelp or anywhere else. Also I cannot comment on her skills as a dog trainer/behaviorist. I am writing here to give others the benefit of our miserable experience with Charlene Sorrentino (aka, The Dog Chick) and to suggest that, if you do hire her, that you get your materials before you pay her!!! Charlene came highly recommended to us to help with some behavioral issues we were having with our new rescue dog. We spoke at length over the phone, and she seemed very nice and knowledgeable. For a fee she quoted she said her services would include and evaluation and a written plan as well as other information about dog behavior, body language etc. to be provided shortly after our meeting. In addition, Charlene said she would be available to us by phone, text, etc as we worked on implementing the plan she designed. We thought the meeting went well and paid her IN FULL after the evaluation and before receiving the behavioral plan. Although she said she would get us the materials the next day. unfortunately, not only did the materials not arrive the next day, but she never provided us with anything she said was included for the fee we paid!! We reached out to her numerous times over the course of a few months asking for the materials and letting her know if she didn't want to do the work she could just refund us and we'd part ways. She responded only once, a few days after we met, apologizing and saying she'd get us the materials that day!! She didn't. Instead, she stopped responding at all. We continued to try an contact her her in an effort to get her to provide the services she agreed to. Not once did she respond in any way. Eventually, we asked for our money back. She never responded to that request either, and it has now been a few months. We have no idea why she completely blew us off and kept all of our money for services she failed to provide. Charlene may or may not be a good behaviorist/trainer and perhaps we are the only ones she ripped off, but we thought it was worth mentioning to other trusting foolish people in need of help with their dogs who are taken in by her friendly demeanor.

Charlene "Charli" is very knowledgeable and truly caring. She's helping me and my crazy boy Ben. He is fear aggressive and I'm frustrated. Charli goes out of her way to help us. She gives me homework to try at home and is available at all hours to discuss anything/everything. I never feel rushed. She takes her time to listen and understand. I'm happy I chose her to help me and my situation. She makes me feel hopeful! She came prepared today with bite proof clothing and even lent me a pair of pants so I can work with Ben at home. She will work with you at your home or at her facility in Huntington Station which is located right off of Jericho Tpke. Charli also holds dog training classes, and now trains people to become dog trainers themselves.
