Great experience overall and my appointment was quick, and most importantly they helped my bearded dragon get better after suffering for a respiratory infection. They prescribed him injectable medicine and after day 5 days on his medicine his cough went away and he became more energetic.

This vet is the only place my wife and I will take our guniea pigs! They are really sweet and accommodating as best as they can. I had two appointments scheduled between all my Guinea pigs, I got two of them in their carrier and headed to the car and my car wouldn't start! I called island exotic vet panicked realizing I can't make my appointment the woman was so kind she could probably hear the anxiety and panic in my voice and talked to her boss about not having me pay the last minute cancellation fee and to consider it in the "holiday spirit" I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. I work for an animal care company and completely understand last minute cancellation fees and why they are so important as they have to turn away patients with my time slot taken up already! But it truly made the difference in putting that money to fix my car and I was able to reschedule for the next week. We have been going there for a couple years now and have nothing but good things to say. Thank you guys for really being amazing and also going above and beyond for your clients!

This clinic has taken great care of our bunny, Onion. The techs are attentive and ask a lot of good relevant questions, the vet is thorough in her explanations, and since there's no dogs or cats allowed, the waiting room is an awesome spot for small pets to wait anxiety-free. Staff is also patient... we are first time pet owners for ourselves (had pets of our own growing up but our first as a married couple away from home) so they are always reassuring and patient with all our questions. We would not want to take Onion anywhere else at this point.

Amazing staff, dedicated doctors, and an amazingly clean and professional hospital. I work myself at a Emergency overnight vet, and I can appreciate the attention to detail the staff have. Always friendly, always informative and helpful. I had Dr.Davis spay my rabbit, I was extremely nervous as it was my first animal I was spaying/neutering, she reassured me through the whole process, their wonderful staff provided common updates, and just an overall very comforting experience. My rabbits incisions healed perfect, and I would 100% reccomend these guys to anyone looking for a committed, respectful Vet Hospital for your animals. Reception is always great and informative. I appreciate every little thing you guys have done for me and my babies. Dr.Davis is a rockstar who will provide exceptional care for your animals.

Came here for the first time, they have signs that made it clear that you have to go in from the back. All the nurses and the doctor were really nice. It was quick and simple, i had them check up on my hamster. Just make sure you ask them if there’d be a fee for most of the stuff because they do not inform you that beforehand. Other than that everything else was excellent.

Dr. Davis and the Island Exotic team are amazing—when I take my chinchilla there, I know she’s in good hands! They’re so knowledgeable and I feel fully informed whenever I leave the office. They’re also very transparent about price estimates, which are reasonable considering the level of care provided. Thank you for all of your help!

I recently noticed that my bunny was likely experiencing stasis and called first thing in the morning to see if it was at all possible to squeeze in an emergency visit. Within the hour they called me back and let me know there was a cancellation and I could take her in. I was so relieved that I didn't have to go to a facility that I don't know or trust especially since many exotic vets have ridiculous wait times and charge up the wall for basic services. IEVC got me in as soon as possible, listened to all of my concerns, did a physical check up and laid out all of my options for treatment. They explained to me different routes that I could go in terms of diagnostic testing and the pros and cons of each, along with potential findings from each. I was given an exact estimate for every potential treatment option and was given the time and privacy to make my decision. They also gave me an honest and transparent opinion about what decisions may be worth my time and which were likely unnecessary. Most importantly they never pressured me into spending any money I wasn't comfortable with and did not make me feel guilty whatsoever for any choice that I made regarding Mango's care. I decided to continue caring for Mango at home with prescription medications. They gave her an injectable and two medications with instructions printed on the bottle. She is recovering comfortably next to her bestie/sister/bonded bun Kiwi and things are getting progressively better. I'm so grateful to Island Exotic for their help in treating what is an admittedly common but extremely concerning illness. I trust their expertise, personal experience, and judgement moreso than any other vet I have ever been to. Thank you to Dr. Wiggin and any and all vet staff who looked after my baby. I appreciate you all!

The vets are nice, but I've had two situations with my birds needing to be treated with Baytril. When I treated my chicken via a different vet with Baytril 4 years ago, I was told that Baytril often leads to yeast infections in birds, and I was given that treatment to be administered after the Baytril. However, when I brought my other chicken to this vet to be treated with Baytril, they did not give me the medicine to treat the yeast infection that ended up coming on as I expected, and I had to make a totally separate appointment and spend even more money on the second medication. These people treat birds regularly, how are they unaware of the common issue with Baytril that is causing yeast infections? It doesn't happen all the time sure, but when I asked the vet about a possible yeast infection after the Baytril, the vet looked at me like I had two heads and did not give me the treatment for the YI after and basically gaslit me into thinking Baytril and YIs aren't correlated, but literally check any chicken and pigeon forum online and you'll see many breeders of both species recommending a prepared treatment for yeast infections/sour crop after needing to administer Baytril for a time.
