I've said it before and I'll say it again. #petesauto in Hunter, NY Is an exemplary mechanic. He has always treated us fairly and done great work but today he surpassed himself. On a busy morning he took time out to put my wife's car up on the lift and give it a thorough once over before she drove to the city as she was worrried about a noise she heard in the front end. Pete gave it a clean bill of health and sent me on my way with no charge!Great work and thanks Pete!

Smart and knowledgeable service team able to diagnose my cars problem in minutes (seconds really, after hearing me describe the problem but then they verified it by looking at the car) - a vacuum leak due to faulty hose

I came in with a bunch of work (only needed a simple estimate) that my car needed with my children. Mind you I'm bringing a lot of business to this gentleman. Pete proceeded to tell me that I should have kept my legs closed and proceeded to mock me for having children and made us wait outside in the rain to get my car returned as I told him I'm done I'm not returning back to the shop. If you are a family I would NOT recommend the shop. The owner is extremely rude disrespectful selfish and has his own personal issues. He should not be throwing his personal problems issues etc into any customers lives!!!I have never been treated with such disrespect. The entire time I was there I did nothing but respect him and praise him for the look of the shop.This man is sexist and honestly should not be in business as far as I'm concerned! He clearly cannot handle simple relations with ANY women with children!

Woke up to a cranky diesel engine that wouldn't start on Christmas morning. After a few calls, I found Pete's Towing, James arrived in 30 minutes, confirmed by fuel lines were gelled up and towed it back to the shop. 90 minutes in a warm shop later, we were on the way back home. I think this is a family owned business and they took the time and empathy to help get my family back home despite it being Christmas morning. Top notch!Service: Battery

Pete saved me!I had a break seize on the day I was set to leave town for Canada. Pete took mercy on me while my wife and 3 month baby hung out in Fellow coffee. He prioritized the work after hearing I was stuck in town with my daughter, and we were on the road mid afternoon. He is a good man. We don’t know what we would have done without him. Above and beyond what you would expect from a mechanic.

Had an amazing experience - a funny thing to say about a garage, but I'd previously had an awful experience at a different garage. So grateful I found Pete's. Not only was he very easy to talk with, but he did an awesome job for me - in an amazingly short time and within my budget. I can't say enough good things about this place. Highly Recommend!

Hacks! Can’t put power steering lines in right the lines hit the fan blade and bolts were missing. Over charged for parts and the car wasn’t right after the repair. Do not go here!

I've gone here too long. I took my car in for power steering line replacement. Turned out it also needed a power steering cooler. Here's a hint "top mechanics" there are no extra parts on a car. If you take a part off, it needs to be put back on. Unless the mechanic who worked on my car was severely hearing impaired, he should have heard the steering lines hitting the fan. He also should have seen the bolt for the clamps for the lines in the windshield washer well. I was offered to bring my car back and they'd fix their mistake. I declined. For more reasons then I care to share, I will NEVER return.
