First time here for snow tubing and we had a blast. Our tubing time was from 3-5pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded but there was a line to the top of the slope. Took a few minutes to reach the top but once we got there it sure was exciting. Hill didn’t appear steep from the bottom and in reality I guess it wasn’t but boy did you fly down the hill. It was a little scary at first but after a while it was just fun. We will definitely be back next year. Only negative aspect was the waffles we ordered from the cafe. Tasted terrible and overpriced for what is was. Other than that our tubing experience was great!

Hunter Mountain Ski School refused to refund my snowboarding lesson although I called twice 24+ hours in advance and provided a photo with a positive COVID-19 test result.Customer service call #1 (day before): The customer service agent confirmed that she was able to refund my lesson in full.No email confirmation for refund, so I called again.Customer service call #2 (day of, lasting 45+ minutes): The agent erroneously said I couldn't cancel but the policy clearly stated that refunds are possible "due to personal illness/injury within 48 hours of your lesson start time". They also said my call the day before wasn't valid and I had to email. So I emailed and attached a photo of me and the positive COVID result.Email response (5 days after): A doctor note is required and they said, "apologies if that is an inconvenience, it's just how our policies work". At this point, I had tested negative. How would you expect me to get a doctor's note within 48 hours? This refund experience was extremely time taking, frustrating, and showed that the agents were insufficiently trained and apathetic.

Hunter is a fantastic and very special ski mountain. Most of its terrain is geared towards advanced and expert skiers. Intermediates might not find much interesting terrain - go to Belleayre (which I also love). However like most challenging mountains the beginner selection is OK especially if it’s one of your first day on skis or you have a child who has just started turning. After that it’s going to be tough to find something that either won’t be scary or crowded.Hunter has long had a reputation for being too crowded. The new north side lift has alleviated pressure from F and Z lift so if you stay away from the base area after 10pm or so on a weekend/holiday you should be ok. The crowds thing is real but can be avoided if you are an advanced skier and a bit strategic. The reason I think Hunter is special is because it’s an oddity. It shouldn’t exist. It’s a huge steep rocky snowy knob that doesn’t look like the nearby mountains. Many of the main thoroughfare trails on the main mountain seem like they were literally dynamited out of the side of the mountain to create large catwalks. Anywhere they could put in fall line skiijng is far steeper than anywhere nearby including the mountains in southern Vermont, which feel flat by comparison. The west side is true east coast steep skiing rivaling places like Killington and Sugarbush. Hunter only falls short because some of these runs aren’t quite as long as it’s wilder neighbors to the north. In short, for advanced skiers in the tri state area, this saves the 5-7 hour drive to northern New Hampshire or northern Vermont and offers a similar challenge.Let’s not forget the party atmosphere for apres and one of the more exciting towns for partying in the Catskills, Tannersville.Overall great mountain if you’re an advanced skier.

Overall a price gouging as the snow tubing is over crowded and underwhelming.

If you haven’t been there in a few years you will be thoroughly disappointed. The trails are not groomed well by midday it’s ice and many are closed along with the resort. There are no amenities after 4pm. Forget about food or a drink at their bar, It’s nonexistent. The town shuts down early since a corporation bought the mountain after the last owner passed away. The corporation doesvnot support the town with employment. There is no where to shop or eat after 8 or 9. Even the Hunter Mt Brewery closes at 8pm. Sad really sad, we won’t be back.

We had a great time! Staff was friendly. Not terrible waits, we each went down about 6x in two hours.

It is one of the nicer but more difficult ski slopes I've been to in the region

A fine Mountain. Very social and easily accessible from NYC. Lift ticket upwards of some $90 and unless there is a lot of snow there are not a plethora of trials open so can get some congestion. Would not recommend for someone looking for a true, intense or thrilling ski experience. This is best for apre ski

Do not book here. Really bad customer services. *** CUSTOMER SERVICE REP HUNG UP ON ME *** I tried getting information in regards to their policy for emotional support pets & the representative could not hold her composure and started to be dismissive while I was asking questions. Further more I expressed to her my interest in booking and in the middle of her trying to hang up on me. I asked “why are you hanging up on me” I was very clear that the way she was handling the conversation was unprofessional and rude & she proceeded by HANGING UP ON ME. Will most definitely take my business else where.

Can't say that was there to ski - it was early October, but the place looks well-maintained and the facilities are above par.
