Bad service! Stay away.Got to hunter at 11am started skiing at 1pm.They charged my cc twice. And even after proving it. manager wouldn't refund. Wasted an hour for paying once and then another hour to pay the 2nd time. I called customer service and no refund unless I go back and talk to rental department.

Early season ski trip. Love Huntah! The epic app stinks and does not track your activity as it did in previous years.

The service was very patient and informative. They take the time to ensure you understand the equipment in order to properly enjoy the experience on the mountain.

You know you are going to pay more as its at the mountain. Service is ok. The return policy is a little strange. How they know you have returned stuff is beyond me.

Mark, Ryan and the whole staff hooked up tubing for our whole group and went the extra mile to ensure we all had a great time. Fair price. Good speed. Snow and spins. Get it!

Overall, a good ski resort. Could probably use some expansion of the parking lot which tends to get super busy during the day, especially during the weekend (hence 1 star off). High quality powdery snow which is less slushy as compared to other resorts in the area.

2.5 hours from New York, Hunter Mountain was perfect for a day ski trip. I gathered my friends and we left NYC at 8am for our trek there. We pre purchased our tickets online and our ski passes were mailed to us. Once we got there getting our equipment was quick and easy. The staff were very kind and helpful, there were free granola bars upon check in. I do have one complaint that was shared by my friends and I, their ski boots are extremely uncomfortable. I got my usual size 8 and she got size 7, both sizes were extremely tight around the shins. The skis themselves were great and I had a fun time whizzing down the mountain with them. Ski poles were a free for all and they did not look well maintained. I had to find matching ones because it was a hot mess pile of random heights. Bunny hill isn't so bad except the line for the magic lift is awful, there were entitled people who would fit in front of you with no remorse. The green slopes were decent, I got a few practice runs in. Bathrooms were nasty and did not look like anyone cleaned them. Overall, my experience was alright and I think I would rather go to Poconos for my next ski trip instead.

Convenient but prices are high for average equipment.

There was a lot to do, and a limited space to do it. These people did an amazing job at keeping things organized and moving everything along quickly. The gear was in good condition and the lockers were pretty self explanatory. I definitely recommend this place :)

I had a great time. My boyfriend and I booked an adult class for beginners. George was our instructor; he was patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. You could tell he enjoys his job and teaching others about skiing. Thanks for the great experience.

Trails are nice if the snow conditions are right, but they are VERY crowded. Weekends have hour long lines and don't even consider a holiday.

I didn't stay at the resort but I did my first ever snowboard lessons here. If I'm learning something new and there is someone to teach me, I'd typically prefer that vs. just figuring it out on my own. But I can't help but feel like these lessons were a waste.I signed up for an adult group lesson. It was at 1pm and they say to get there at least 90 min before if you are renting. Believe them when they say that because it takes a while but the people at the rental shop were super helpful and friendly. There were only 4 of us in the group lesson which was great because the instructor was able to be attentive to each of us. Our instructor was super friendly but I can't say we learned much. The entire lesson was at the very, very bottom where everyone waits for the lifts. Which would have been fine to start but we spent the whole lesson there. We spent the entire time practicing turning left and right which is necessary, but there was no instruction on slowing down, stopping, how to stay straight/actually maneuver a board down a mountain/hill. Did I expect to be able to do all of these things after an hour and a half lesson? No. But I at least thought we'd go over it. At the very end the instructor brings you on the carpet to go down the bottom part of the hill. We did one ride down per person with the instructor holding your hands and then when you got to the bottom, your lesson was over. Additionally the part where all of the newbies, children, etc we're going was a sheet of ice so it was extremely painful when you fell. (Which is all the time as as a newbie). We were also never told where the other smaller hills were. So by the end of the lesson it felt like practice on the sheet of ice or full blown mountain. I went to a nearby the following day and it felt like there was a lot more area for beginners so I'd probably recommend that to folks in the future who are just starting out.

In our experience, we paid for beginner classes, it was two hours of classes (very good instructor), including helmet, boots and board, for 150 dollars, that also includes the rest of the day with the opportunity to hit the slopes the rest of the day. Suggestion is to come well dressed with special snow clothing, a camera and lunch since the cafeteria is not good. Also bring glasses because they don't rent them here. Excellent facilities, friendly staff who can help in Spanish.
