“This place deserves better rating! - Don't expect any advice from the staff that was actually very friendly but clueless. It's probably a place with frequent turnover (they all seemed rather young), but if the choice/price is good this should be what matters? Not a bad experience, but nothing to recommend either.- I am from France, spending two weeks around Lake George and looking for USD15-25 bottles to enjoy with dinner. As a general rule I like to buy from France since I simply know better wine from there (and for cheap wine, which could be terrible, it matters a lot!). This place had an outstanding selection of French wine for that category (it checked all the mark for this price range that I know in the US: Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire, Alsace etc.). Nothing was exceptional (except a few deals here and there) but I was SO glad to find so many.- I also looked for a few "nicer bottle" in the USD30-50 range and there it was much more random: the reserve section seemed to be relatively spotty (almost none from France, others had high price that I would not necessarily trust even if I did not see anything outrageous). I ended up buying a superior Chianti that was on sale and it did deliver a subtle and sweet wine that was a bit above the pack. So overall, very happy with this business. My advice if you are trying to find affordable wine in the region is "try Monty's". I don't think price for sub 25 can be beaten there and there's probably no regret there. Experiment cautiously with higher price (you can be happy as we were) and go to a more knowledgeable place the day you need something special.”
“They have a wide selection of wines & liquor and most of the staff are very knowledgeable, if they don't have it sometimes they can order it. They also often have rebates & sales available & their prices are usually fairly reasonable anyways.”

“Great liquor store in Lake George they have a huge selection of spirits as well as wines Alice and Barbara are there to help you find what you're looking for. They have some spirits I've never seen in any other location. Very friendly, great location and excellent prices. High Peaks Distillery from Lake George was there on Friday sampling all they're wonderful spirits. If you haven't tried their stuff definitely worth trying.”

They have a great selection to choose from and easy to get to from exit 17 onto Route 9 across from Stewart's Shop. The hired help is very helpful & freindly. Check them out reasonable price's & great hour's their open.”
