Fiancé and other staff work extremely hard and love animals like they’re their own. Animals are loved and well taken care of.

Such a clean and nice animal shelter! The animals all looked well cared for and had plenty of room. The adoption process was pretty straightforward and easy as well. My mom is so happy with her new puppy!

We are a no-kill shelter. We are the only shelter in our county for both cats and dogs. We are funded by donations, and pay for our veterinary care and medications. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with all donations being tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law."
The Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc. was founded in 1975 by a group of residents of Schoharie County who were disturbed by the plight of the many starved, abused, and stray animals in this area. ASSV is a not-for-profit organization. It is a no-kill shelter, comprised entirely of volunteer members and Board of Directors with the exception of the Executive Director, assistant manager, and support staff.
