My experience has been very good. The employees are nice polite. I like the freshness of all the products that they sell.

On the 2nd of October between 1200H to 1300H, was told that I was “not allowed” to double bag my PAID groceries by the self check out attendant despite me telling her I had to walk 10+ blocks home. For a regular paying customer, explain to me where is the common sense in this?! Since when did the check out attendants become the plastic bag police??? Why are you not training them proper customer service???

In the beginning when they first opened it was great and well stocked but now I go for bread in the morning and half empty the baked that I couldn't find bread. The person in the bakery just sits there on their cell phone. If a supermarket such as food emporium opens early that bakery should be full especially on weekends . I know that supermarket is busy and should always be stocked up and not employees talking to each other joking arounf or on their cell phones

Very bad customer service, starting with the so call “owner” who is leading by very bad example. Employees and owner are rude with customers like we are not paying for the groceries and asking for anything free. They must all realize that without clientele, there is no business. Maybe it’s time to consider the importance of customer satisfaction ratings since they will continue to go down if not improve sooner than later.

This supermarket is the most expensive in the area and the products are not totally fresh. The customer service is the worst. I never go to that place.

The fruit is like tasteless rocks. The deposit refund stubs are not accepted at the register so you have to get in line by the courtesy counter (for pennies) where the workers are generally too bust to notice you're there. And the recyclable machines outside work only occasionally as they are out of order or full. And since there are no longer numbers at the deli, people are constantly asking each other who's next. For these high prices you don't expect so many inconveniences. At the butcher or fish counter, you generally have to wait a while for someone to show up. I have walked away from them often.
There are several supermarkets (Shop Rite, Stop 'n' Shop, Key Food, et al) in the area or a very short car ride away. They are cheaper too. This one is on the way down. Try the others.

Overall, I think you're store is lovely especially the deli. Love the bakery but saw something disturbing a while ago. The older man was wiping his nose with a hankerchief (sans gloves) then proceeded to put cut up cake on his mouth and was cutting up some other cakes. I have worked in the food prep area for years and I know the rules. Please tell your employees to wear gloves and not eat in front of customers. It's not very professional.

The store does stock quite a few items that cannot be found in stop and shop.
The prices, are outrageously high.
The bakery is wonderful, especially the bread

Everything is overpriced and the cashiers are rude as hell. Stop n shop on crossbay is way better if you don’t want too get robbed!

When Key Food became Food Emporium I was impressed. Store was clean, well stocked and the bakery and fresh food area was a delight. But now, the quality of the store, not the food, has changed a great deal. I've noticed more than once how the shelves for various items are never stocked even though I see workers doing the stocking. A lot of the fresh fruits and vegetables are often old and your deli department is not the best. The worst thing lately is not being able to communicate with anyone to ask where something is because they all speak mostly Spanish and very few understand English. Customer service is rude, obnoxious and not pleasant at all. One man in particular standing near customer service insisted an item i was looking for was in aisle 2.
I told him it wasn't, I checked twice. He was nasty, condescending and didn't like being told he was wrong. Your cashiers are very sweet, helpful and pleasant to talk to. The prices are also ridiculously high. I continued my shopping at Shoprite.
Your store should take a lesson from them. I got everything I needed, shelves were stocked, produce fresh and customer service was a delight. Coming to your store used to be nice but not anymore.

This place has such a dual personality. Most of the employees are sweet as pie. Then the people at customer service really suck. I went to use the restroom and oh why did I want to do that. An older man needs to use the restroom? The employee was in the restroom when I turned the knob, and announced herself. I moved on and up the aisle and continued to shop. I saw her coming down the aisle with a key and asked if I could used the facility. She opened the door for me after berating me to try to open the door...followed by how did you know the bathroom was there (I''ve been in the store for over 30 years - remember waldbaums.) Completely sarcastic, nasty m/f. Not to mention that they are price gouging the community they serve. Locals who have no other choice to stay local due to mobility and age. Like I said. Dual personality. Love the cashiers and most of the help. Have to consider shopping somewhere else while I still can. A bathroom. It's a bleeping necessity low-life!
For reference purposes, this ocured on Monday, February 26th. at approximately 8:30 P.M. If she is an employee - she should be fired. If she is a manager she should be retooled and sent back to school and we should boycott the store until they provide public restrooms for all patrons just like Stop and Shop does on Cross Bay Boulevard
50% of your last 14 most recent reviews are either 1 or 2 stars. That means something has changed in your store. Corporate needs to look at that.
