THIS IS MY LATEST REVIEW (10/28/2024)
A little over a week ago (October 20th, 2024 ~ 1AM), my sweet boy Balto passed away. Although these things are always tragic and hurt beyond words can express, I was fortunate to know that God had put amazing folks like THE ENTIRE STAFF at Howard Beach Animal Clinic PC, in our lives to be here for HIM and us (my family) for the time we had left with him.
Due to spiritual reasons, putting him down was never an option for me when it came to making decisions and monitoring his health. Dr. Rodriguez and the team never made me feel judged or shame for the decision (because ultimately we all cared about him and didn't want him to suffer too much due to his cancer) however, it was always something advised, they understood why I couldn't go that route and I APPRECIATE YOU ALL wholeheartedly for never putting me in that position on top of the other factors I was contending with.
We knew the diagnosis was terminal however, treating it as a hospice type situation was always the route I wanted to take-- make my boy as comfortable as he can be and have him pass away at home surrounded by those he love and those who love him. That's exactly how it happened (after all the pain and discomfort)-- he found peace.
Everyone shared such beautiful sentiments about him and I am so touched by how much this clinic truly cares. It speaks volumes that he was remembered for more than just being one of the challenging fur babies they'd have their hands full with-- but that they truly are animal lovers here and they just want to do what's best.
HOWARD BEACH ANIMAL CLINIC PC, WE (my family and I) WILL NEVER FORGET YOU GUYS! You ALL are so APPRECIATED!!!!

I am saddened to see any negative reviews pertaining to this animal clinic.
Anyways, this review is LOOOOOOONG overdue.
I have a very very difficult, massive, aggressive Alaskan Malamute.
Sometime last year, he had an abscess type situation erupt in his neck area. His vet at the time really wanted nothing to do with it, and kind of left us hanging high and dry.
In a panic with no clue where to go and what to do, I stumbled across Howard Beach Animal Clinic PC online. I called them up, explained my situation, and they said come on over.
They treated the situation as an emergency visit (there was an additional charge, but totally worth it to be accommodated so quickly). Dr. Rodriguez and her care team were AMAAAAZINGGGGG!! I cannot stress enough how at ease they put me, improvising and comfortable with any/ all measures needed to deal with my difficult to deal with Alaskan Malamute.
We followed up for the 2 week follow up and all was well. Then last month, Dr. Rodriguez and her team handled his annual physical, where she found a mass near his anus and she guided me through the steps of the findings and what comes next.
This hasn't been easy. Having a pet who needs to be sedated for appointments since I've had him... EVERYONE at Howard Beach Animal Clinic has made this so easy, to take care of him and monitoring his health.
I cannot thank them enough. From the girls at the front desk, to the support team in and out of the rooms, to the technicians and the doctors themselves. I thank God everyday that we found you guys.
Thank you! I highly recommend this practice!
If their phones are busy due to high call volume, press 3 for a call back. They call back quickly and are VERY courteous and attentive of your matters.

3 year customer. Great veterinarians but the wait time! I’ve waited 45 minutes without any type of acknowledgment. From my experience, they are overbooked.

My pup and I enjoy the quality care they provide him. The staff is kind and attentive. The location is clean and accessible via public transportation. This space can get busy, but it just goes to show how everyone wants to be here when their baby needs updated shots or urgent care.

Great Dr and staff, I live in long island but I prefer to drive all the way to Howard Beach because I know that my puppies are going in good hands

scam! negligent service from what seemed to be a very nice clinic.. they did a surgery on my cat due to his teeth rotting and just snapped the tips of his teeth off leaving the root in… all of his teeth and none were extracted completely. When I realized this I was extremely frustrated and contacted this clinic, and their excuse was “sorry we haven’t had a working Xray in years”.. so they’re perfectly ok with charging thousands for this teeth operation and not doing it correctly… shame on them and shame on the neglectful service.. caused months of torture/pain to my cat and myself.. he nearly died and they suggested he be put down due to the suffering of their TERRIBLE work.

We took our cat here when he had dental issues, and each visit they would remove teeth. $800 each time. For w YEAR! Our final visit, he was so skinny from not eating and the PAIN. We took him to ASPCA and they told us this place left TWENTY 20, 2-0 shards of teeth. They told us he would have never healed. This "clinic" would break off his teeth and not completely extract his teeth - never disclosing to us that they had not done any x rays until our last visit. We should've sued them. They almost killed our cat.

The doctors are very caring and they always take the time to explain things in detail. They never push extra services unless it’s absolutely necessary. They treat my dog as if she was their own. I have no complaints about this practice.

The lady who helped me was really caring and asked me if I wanted to spend more time with my cat, who passed away. That meant a lot to me.

My pittie Clyde got very ill 1 month ago, Dr. Roufail and all the other Dr's. And staff went above and beyond to help Clydie. Unfortunately today we lost him but we are forever grateful for the compassion for us and the love for our fur baby. I can not recommend HBV more to any one who wants the best for their pets. Thank you Dr. Roufail for your support.

Kind caring and professional staff and doctors. Took excellent care of my cat from initial exam through surgery and post op. Not my first visit here. Have always been treated with compassion. Excellent communication and detailed after care instructions. Would never take my pets anywhere else.

Howard animal clinic was a good choice for my pets, they are friendly with the animals, the treatments for my cat was so effective, and for my young dog they have been guide me with the vaccination and everything related. The parking is a little complicated but you can park in front at the other side of the road. The only thing is the wait, even though you have the appt, but that happen everywhere in a medical office.

I have been going to HBAC for many years. The staff is always friendly & courteous. Dr. Roufail has been my vet for all of my animals past & present. He is always compassionate & takes the time to listen to any concerns or questions. They have taken excellent care of my babies since day one.
