The store is clean, has a lot of options, but I find the prices on the higher end. I dont go here a lot, only when I'm in the area and just need to grab something on the way home.

This acme store is a joke. They never have anything in stock. They close their entrance doors at 8:30pm instead of 9:00pm going by the sign on the door, and some nights even earlier. So, you are forced to walk in through the exit door of the store have to walk on the other side of the store in the entrance lobby to grab a cart to go shopping. Not to mention once you are done shopping, you get stuck at the exit door up to 2 minutes and can't leave because the person blocking your exit while they are using the lotto machine that is literally in front of the exit door, and there is only 1 exit to leave the store. All the staff are rude and all act like they don't want to be there. You ask any one of their employees a question, they act like you are wasting their time, and why you even speaking to me attitude. Half of them can't even answer simple questions about locations of some food items. Then when you go on self-checkout, you are being watched by the employees as if you are about to steal something and run out of the store. These employees must be so bored at their job and need a star from their mangers, so they are more worried about catching a thief then helping any of the customers online at the self-checkout. The other night a young African American female employee who works the self-checkout there at nights, thought I was stealing for some crazy wild reason and not ringing up all my food items at the self-checkout, she was literally standing behind me, to try and intimidate me as if she caught be doing something illegal or wrong, like she was employee of the month or a superhero for acme. I noticed someone inches from behind me, and I called her out and told her what she was doing was rude and uncalled for. There were customers on all the other registers that night and she's standing behind me and watching me like I was stealing. Who do these young employees think they are to accuse someone of doing something and telling me she's just doing her job. It's your job to assume someone is stealing? and get in their face and intimidate them, like I'm right here, so don't steal. These employees get paid minimum wage, not sure why these young adults think they are loss prevention and store register clerks, you get paid to sell food, not to be a detective and try to catch thieves, that employee and all the rest of acme employees needs to slow her role, and her manager needs to reinforce her role because what she is doing is rude and unprofessionally. Not to mention what a little girl is going to do with a real thief who plans to steal from that store, I hope it's worth the $14 an hour for her. I hope that a higher manager sees this post and really does something about this behavior with their employees. I will continue to shop at this Acme store in Hopewell JT NY, but I refuse to use the self-check because of the wannabe detective employees who are making it very obviously and making assumptions that you are about to commit a crime. Like WTF? Never in my life have I ever experienced customer service like this from a supermarket. Besides their nasty and rude employees and poor customer service at nighttime, and the fact you have to go through the exit doors after 8-8:30 at night and have to go through customers with carts who are leaving the exit doors and pissed you are in their way, it's still a cheap supermarket compared to other supermarkets in the area, and that alone is worth me going back. General Acme Manager please stop your employees from making acme customers feel like thieves. The self-check-out employees can still keep a look out for thieves, they shouldn't automatically go up to a random customer on self-check out and invade their personal space and make assumptions of a crime being committed in the customers face. Maybe next time the employee should wait until he/she actually sees a crime has been committed before confronting an Acme customer, instead of making a judgement call before a crime has been committed. Hi, the internet says it opens at 6 am so I went there at 6:23 am and they said they did not open until 7 am. They were rude and asked them why the internet said they opened at 6 am? They said they have tried to change it but couldn't again said very rudely. The people behind the information counter have always been less than accommodating and when they do answer they seem bothered. I was there for a specific reason for an over the counter medication for my husband. The lack of compassion was obvious.

Most of the employees do their their best to be helpful.However who ever is in charge of the produce allows Way Too Much thoroughly rotten fruits and vegetables to remain on display.Anything you want to purchase MUST be very thoroughly inspected.I have never experienced this anywhere else.

I always enjoy this Acme. The workers always remind me of being in the south. They are very friendly and genuinely care about their customers and their lives. The supermarket is adequate. They seem to carry most of the things you'll need. I just wish the meat department was a little better. Sometimes there is beef out that is clearly not fresh. But other than that it is a well run supermarket.

Steven in the deli is a very pleasant man, he is courteous, and attentive to what you ask for. I go in almost every day and ask for a pound of ham shredded! Steven does it perfectly every time! He never rolls his eyes or has a comment about what I’m asking for.Thank you Steven!

I shop here regularly. However today the cashier void my coupons . So none of my coupons was taken off. This is not the first time this happen. She also rang me up so fast that she broke one of my bag of peanuts I did not know until I got home that my coupons was missing. I could not go back since I have someone at home to take care of. You need to check your receipt before leaving.

Chickens aren't cooked enough. The so called " FRESH" fruit bowl still contains bioengineered fruit!! Alot of the Pepperidge farm cookies are 2 days away from expiration. Customers would prefer FRESH fruit bowl without bioengineered fruit!!!

This store is ok. I liked it better as the A&P. You have to watch expiration dates in items. It is convenient to run in for a few things.

Great staff but everything you buy that is "on sale" may not be on sale because the sale tags on items are expired for like a month and still left on the shelf with the merchandise, they will honor it but jeez an extra 10 minutes so someone can verify the tag and come back to ok it.

I went to ACME at Hopewell Junction this week and I was a little annoyed that some of the products I purchased were ringed up wrong. However, when I went to the customer service desk, I had the pleasure of working with Rachel, who was so sweet and helpful. She provided excellent customer service; moreover, she is the reason why I keep coming back to shop at Acme. Acme needs more workers like Rachel! Someone give her a raise!!!

I never go to ACME unless I'm desperate! Everything is so over priced and they make a killing on everyday items. Most people in my town go there because it's convenient. Not if you're on a budget! ShopRite is 5 minutes down the road and doesn't steal the change in your pocket.

Been a loyal customer from day one. Today I needed one paper bag. Have purchased many reusable bags in the past. I had a paper bag that was obtained from the adjacent register. Maryanne retrieved the bag from me and placed it under the counter.She stated, with attitude that she would have to charge me for the bag, that she was not going to lose her job because I didn’t want to pay for a bag.I let her know that your going to lose a excellent customer over the cost of a bag, told to do what I have to do and have a nice Easter. Is a Paper bag really worth losing a customer and an employee?Luckily we have many other options in the area that don’t charge for a a bag if you forgot to bring in your reusable.

Overall this is a good supermarket and has pretty much all the basics and more. Prices are competitive to other local supermarkets in the area. They could use some more people at checkout though, although the line is not too bad and they do have ample self checkout. There is a pharmacy in the store too. Parking is ample ,but sometimes you might have to park a bit far from the entrance.. That's my take of it!

Wide selection of groceries and many sale items. They have all brand names, including Boars Head cold cuts. Beautiful selection of flowers. Easy in & out, plenty of parking.
