A friend of mine who I help out is getting internet for their small business through northland. I can’t believe how pushy their sales guys are. They are giving us such a hard time that we are using our own equipment. Maybe if they didn’t substantially overcharge for mediocre hardware we would have got it from them. It’s really sad how they are trying to take advantage of someone who is not tech savvy and just sell them everything they don’t need ?

Really wanted to like the service. As one of the reviewers below mentioned the speeds are laughable for fiber. Spectrum which I already have offers better price / performance. Even with this in mind, I was still willing to give them a shot. Come to find out they double NAT their service! This means all of my home automation and security cameras don't work! When I called I was told it's something they cant fix (bridging the connection like every other ISP does). Back to the evil empire of spectrum I go. PS - The folks working the install and customer service were awesome, the service is just terrible.

Called two weeks ago stating how we need to have a new phone system installed or new phones that work and the guy says I will have somebody call you and still have never received a call back. Called him today just for him to tell me that the girl that was supposed to call you has been out on medical leave. Well last I knew business does not stop because somebody is out on medical leave. What a joke!!!!

Horrible service with "Mary" over the phone,, I was embarrassed by the fact that she told me that she was going to "hang up on me" because i had asked her on 5 occasion (what the monthly cost was for fiber service was) ...I explained to her that her rude behavior is not accepted and that i would personally call him (while she was condescendingly telling me the phone number to call while i was telling her i would call him personally) . I got off the phone and called "Ricky " Back and informed him how embarrassed i was with " Mary" and that i only want to purchase service and how much is it monthly,,simple question,,just wanted to know if it was in my price range,,,, "Ricky" Was happy I called him back and gave me confidence that the manager would call me back,, I called a second time and to no avail. still no return call...(AND I sent 3 emails) this has lead me to believe that this is not just on the sales end but is indeed development / managerial / well up the ladder ....I've been in business for 38 years,,,,and i never had a customer call me and ASK for a manager to call them back to clear things up and move forward with a sale, (irrelevant how "Mary" embarrassed me) and that is all I wanted was to move forward with the sale,,,I understand people have bad days,,(and i forgave her the minute i got off the phone),, but to NOT EVEN GET A RETURN CALL,,, UPDATE UPDATE.. Lauren returned my call 6 days later,, THANKS! ,.,.,., Lauren walked through the entire process again and gave me a price quote in less than 3 minutes,,, and i asked her why this was not done in this timeframe 2 representatives ago!,,.,. she then Informed me that Northern Communications will not service my company stating my business is "not a fit" stating we only service 3 lines or more among other reasons she would not state over an email,,,but definitely stated in a phone call,,,(a retaliation due to this review) another professional call by northland communications!

Coming from out of the area, I was amazed to see the low amount of value that ISPs Spectrum and Northland bring. There is no competition- Northland charges ludicrous rates for low fiber speed (hint: get a second quote and it will drop some), while Spectrum charges much for poor service too for cable internet. From the businesses that I have worked with, it was clear to see that Northland does not invest in talent, and therefore does not either retain it, and service is according (Voip Phone services namely). Also, I would encourage Northland to expand coverage to residential addresses (call them now about it and they'll hang up on you). The year is 2021 and this is not a third world country. Catch up to Frontier providing 5000mbs up/down fiber for 65/month in neighboring counties. Until then, perhaps Elon's Starlink will suite us here in CNY

The installers were great. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They took time to explain what they were doing and how the fiber optics works. Since the fiber optics was installed it has been working flawlessly. My kids say that it is way faster for their gaming than the spectrum internet we had previously. Great comapany and people. I am glad I made the move to Northland Communications.

We switched our office phone and internet service from Time Warner to Northland about 4 years ago because we were frequently subjected to outages. Since we have been with Northland, we have not had ANY interruptions of services....either phone or internet....and we much happier.
