I've been using this cute little shop since 2007 for proms, parties, formal events and finally my wedding last week. I've gone from renting to finally owning my own full suit. I'm completely happy with the end product and Mary is always fun to conversation with.

I agree with Mike. This shop is genuine, a thrill, expertly run, has a nice storefront and does A+ HANDIwork! All things Scottish, buy it here. Kiltmaker's Apprentice is the best Scottish shop north of the City. The Best. Capital 'B'.. End of Story! The proprietors are from a long line of historic Highlanders and are able to fix, display, knit, don, create, embroider, repair, design, fine tune, alter, custom and explain anything involving Scotland, the Highland Clans, moors, landscape, battles, culture and dress! Best Scotland store by a long stretch. It is a bit tucked away, the last house on a side street in a small hamlet but it's well worth your visit and business. Kiltmaker's Apprentice has a nice small entrance and two side windows that are used to display their woolen, cloth, belts, emblems and tartan goods. It's such a fine, amiable and quaint small store that I can not go on raving about it. It makes the whole town! The best. Rebel review: 5

Was in lower state ny for thanksgiving 2019. My brother, (the groom) was seriously tossing around the idea of celebrating our heritage by wearing kilt to his wedding, and having the groomsmen wear them as well. Like my father and our fathers before him, he wanted to scrap the tux and get a kilt. He lives in California, the wedding is in North Carolina and the rest of us are in Massachusetts, so getting together today was somewhat of a big deal. We drove over an hour to get to the store, and hands down it was the best service we have had dealing with kilts. The owner stayed over an hour late helping us all try on different styles and figuring out what he/we wanted to do. While my brother is still undecided, this shop definitely helped him in his decision and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested.

Have rented from them multiple times, most recently for my groomsmen. Polite, professional, very reasonable $$$ and ready ahead of schedule. They are absolute subject matter expert who will shoot you straight and give you the best recommendation/advice to meet your requirements.

If you are looking for custom work, awesome staff and true Scottish Highland fashion stop looking, this is the place. Bob and Doreen are experts in fit, fashion and customer service. I placed an order for over $12,000 worth of custom kilts and could not be happier. First class communication and service end to end. They are the "official" supplier of the West Point Pipes and Drums among many others. Go Army, BEAT NAVY!

You made my dreams come true. Thank you so much for helping my husband and my sister surprise me at her wedding. My husband and our boys looked amazing. They took my breath away. I've wanted my husband to find his family's tartan and wear a kilt for 17 years but I didt know his tartan pattern. It was the first thing I asked when I heard the story. He explained it would have taken more time to get then he had but he was wearing the Scottish National. I was so proud of him. My heart is still skipping beats. I love family history and this was one of the most amazing memories I will carry always. You did an amazing job and they all looked like the could be on the cover of a magazine.

It has been over a year that I went to Highland, NY, to have a looksie. A new piper I was, and in need of a kilt. Ebay and Amazon just didn't do it and I wanted something original. First visit we were early but we (my wife in tow) were greeted warmly. Long story, I purchased a hand made kilt and learned how to wear it. Adjustments were made and I wish it weren't so far away from my current location, so I could just peek into the store. Such a nice experience and I wear my Kiltmakers Apprentice kilt with pride, on the left coast. My piping is getting better too. Tanks.
